Thought I'd just say this tickled me, perhaps we would go from Dutch to Senile!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Difference is we were never in danger with Pardew of going down , and we had points on the board
This guy will take us down

I wouldn't say we were in no danger of going down with the amount of goals we were conceding and players requesting defensive training on Wednesday, getting it on Thursday, then taking it themselves on Friday. But we could create and score goals with the football being played on the floor from open play attacks because the players knew where they should be and should do, and they knew the same of their teammates. What we've had is full backs that can't play wing back and CB's not up to the standard to play in a 3.

If we don't beat burnley or Southampton he'll be gone!! We've then got Man City, Man Utd and chelski, which will then be 8 without a win and I can't see parish waiting that long!!

Which is a shame, because I think some of our now high earning big shots are to blame as well, if some of them put as much effort in as Jimmy Mac we might have a few points on the board by now whatever formation or system we're playing!!

I agree but then they must look and think,

'Joel at RWB?'

'3 new youngsters in v Huddersfield. 2 of them in the back 3, one of the arrived at the club 4 days ago.'

'More changes than we thought were coming and all happening vs the easier teams when we could get points on the board before 3 of the top 4.'

All of that done after Luka played all pre season at CB and ward didn't play at all. Must feel like going over the top of the trenches with a stick in your hand.

De Boer has not helped himself for sure. I would play my gran ahead of Joel Ward in any position, and would play my deceased gran at right wing back ahead of Ward. When Ward got forward against Huddersfield he was completely lost. Its a mixture of managerial errors and players not standing up to be counted. The bigger issue is Parish, he has lost the plot this time. Dithering around for so long meant we didnt have enough time with our new manager, whoever it might have been. Then to hire someone like De Boer after already witnessing what happened when Pardew tried to make us play more possession football is worrying at best, and completely crazy at worst. We can only make someone like De Boer work here if we back him with minimum 80 million quid in this window alone and clearly we are not doing that. I will say again its like Inter Milan hiring Warnock. Parish needs to take a long look in the mirror, and whether or not the yanks have a say in this kind of thing clearly Parish has the majority say as he runs the club day to day, knows the league and sport, and the yanks are running other sports teams in a foreign land. Buck stops with Parish on this howler of a decision. Its a clanger.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I do think he's underestimated how tough the premier league is, it's a whole different animal to the Dutch league, and I'm sure he's learning after making mistakes himself, it's just whether he's going to have long enough, because there's losing and there's losing and we have been pretty bad. But I still think certain players after having their arses kicked by fat Sam and avoiding the drop and being heroes again could be giving De Boer a lot more!!

Not long after FDB was appointed I said to a couple of Palace supporters in my 'Local' that something was telling me it just wouldn't work out for him.I looked at the press conference, saw the 'Body language', the demeanour etc etc and maybe this influenced my thinking just don't know.

I think it was really just 'Gut instinct', not based on any rational thinking or facts, heaven knows why I was having these thoughts. The two chaps looked at me quizzically as I was passing on my feelings and shaking my head.

I do hope and pray I do NOT have need to tell these people "I told you so".Let's hope FDB is a great success and that my feelings were borne out of a brain whose acceleration has slowed over the years and isn't the speediest of modems these days !!!!

It's amazing what people think about a manager who's only had a few games to sort things. A few choice quotes from here:

"He's already half way there, he's taken away our attacking intent and now we lose without scoring, same result, no excitement. Makes me delighted."

"He has produced a side who are not performing, it is quite clear he has lost the dressing room."

"The worse thing for me was the way so many Palace fans are so quick to turn on their own team. Even a square pass in the face of a packed defence attracted huge moans."

"The booing is self-destructive. If you want to demoralise your own team and boost the oppo, that's what you do. It made us fans look poor and fair-weather, light-weights."

"He always has an excuse for everything and it is never his fault. The defence has got worse. 5 at the back at home against the bottom club is a bizarre formation. He reminds me of Van Gaal at Man U - this way has worked for me before so i keep doing the same thing."

"Since this arrival we are conceding more goals and have rarely looked like scoring. The owners having given him the backing in the window have got to stick with him but I am far from sure whether he is the right man. Our only hope now is new signings gel quickly enough to turn things round."

"I am struggling to see how we are better now than we were a month ago. At least then we were playing the ball forward and scoring goals. We are now pedestrian no movement and struggling to get a shot on target. We are making Swansea look far far better than they really are. Going down with a wimper."

"It won't have helped that, on arrival, he described them as having the mentality of "losers" For the first time in a few years, some fans have turned really toxic and lashed out at the players. Right now, I guess the atmosphere is not good, and some stalwart players may be looking for a Palace exit."

"Well it has'nt he has no strategy complaining about a thin squad does not wash, the squad is not thin but it does have a massive injury problem. He has not helped by playing a now dispirited rudderless team and making uninspired selections and substitutions. He has rabbed the cash and sits there getting fatter."

Oh yeah, these are quotes about Big Sam in January, not FDB. The more things change, the more they stay the same...

The things Frank did Sam would never have done. Maybe the starts were similar, but Frank's had a pre season to play players in different positions to where they started the season, and then made irresponsible decisions and selections and it looks like he's totally neglected the need to analyse and plan against the opposition. Something the opposition have found all too easy after broadcasting his formation to suit, but not suit, the players. And some pre season games to be sure of their tactics as well.

Let's hope he learns fast. I'll be doing what Jordan said. God it's rare I agree with him on palace but I do this summer. We should all support Frank until you cannot support him any more.
