was going to :

have a go on the boat
clean my van out
walk the dog
do some work
see a small gig this evening

The rain has made most of these options a non-starter, and I don't want to leave the house.

Dog is hiding under the duvet

I may just loiter around Palace Talk and get myself worked-up

I think more people should blog their days. Would be much better than everyone sniping at each other. Unless somebody didn't agree with something you did during your day.

yesterday, whilst we were out for an hour, the dog was left at home. during that time he managed to unzip the wife's handbag, take out foil-wrapped dog treats, remove the packaging and ate the lot.
Fekker
This morning he wouldn't come out from under the duvet. After 15 minutes, I dragged him to the car and drove 2 miles to the woods. Where the little shlt ran around the car park, trying to get into other peoples cars
After 10 minutes of getting wet and cold in the car park, we got back into my car and went home.

Can the day get any better ?

All I can hear is rain on the roof

I went to the garden centre instead. Bought 2 plants with flowers.
Got stopped at the level crossing on the way home, behind a Railtrack van. A steam train trundles past, the passengers smiling and waving out of the windows, and I wave back.
Railtrack, the people responsible for the failing rail lines around Sussex are delayed on their travels by an exemplary steam service, running on time, with happy passengers.
2pm, finally stops raining. Think I'll make a fruit pie from blackberries I picked yesterday, apples from the local orchard and plums from my own tree. (ready-made pastry from Tesco)
If I keep the wife sweet, I may be in for a sh@g this evening.

Hey Forest. Have you given employment a thought. Then at least you can buy some fruit to go into a pie rather than scrumpying ot from other people's gardens

A mate of mine in Mumbai posted something similar on facebook yesterday. I'll say the same to you as I said to him. At least you didn't have to go to work. He got comfort out of those words.
