Wasn't following a particular argument I just responded to a post.

Hedge is a good poster, he don't need any back up from me.

As for teachers.....I'd love to teach history......Each lesson would start with the children coming in with Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries playing......At least it would wind Nick up.

Teaching history as cover and supply was interesting.

Ok, I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this my ethnocentric duelling partner IF you explain clearly which other BRITISH people/group, and how, would also be "encouraged" to immerse in our heritage -not sure how that would be implemented btw day trip to Hampton Court? - apart from those BRITISH people, say in their thirties, born here, as were their parents, with Asiatic and African ancestry.

Because it would be daft and prejudiced, and would lead to less social cohesion, so plainly self-defeating just targeting those folk, would it not?

What am I asking is Do all British people who share our ethnicity get a pass with 'heritage encouragement' and British people who don't don't?

Edited by Kermit8 (15 Sep 2017 7.30pm)

I don't think you really understand what is being said here. Making comments like sending people to Hampton court just shows that.

What you mock, ...is nothing short of what masses of immigrants into this country have already done.

What you mock, has been the reason that many Jews and Asians in Britain have embraced and been apart of....it's apart of why they have made such a success here. All the accusations of victim culture and racism should be shown that bright light. Your acceptance of multiculturalism and the pushing of it by left minded individuals in power in the past has caused much damage to those communities who lapped it up.

It's about allegiance to Britain. It isn't about forgoing your heritage but it is about supporting this country and integrating with the culture and language. It's about an acceptance of secularism and social libertarianism.

If the chips are down in this country and you won't stand with me in the trenches, then I don't want to stand with you either.

There is a percentage in this country who don't have that allegiance....I don't care if they are born British or not....I've taught plenty a quality person who was a foreigner who thinks far more of this country than certain 'British' individuals. I'd swap them in an instance.

Apart from the usual disingenuous Leftie rant there is plenty there I agree with so may I suggest it is not ethnocentric ideals that you are pursuing a la Japan but more an inclusive ongoing educating for our younger generations from all backgrounds on our history and our culture past and present? I am definitely on board with that.

Education policy has been directed very much mostly by rightwing governments here since the late 70s so I blame them for failures in aspects of social cohesion. They have been too politically correct and short termist in their outlook.

The terms left and right today are probably ill fitting for both what I complain about. I'm ethnocentric as I believe the alternatives are far worse. Modern day Japan gets this about right despite the occasional moron calling it racist....it's far from perfect and has its own form of bizarre repressions.... but it's better in its self identity than our mess.

It isn't fair to say I'm disingenuous as it's true that most of what I complain about originated from and is still pushed by the left but the reality is that those ideas gained wide acceptance on the mainstream right as well and have also been pushed and hence their damage during Tory administrations is also a reality.

Cultural Marxism and relativism are nightmares. Political correctness like egalitarianism has its noble aspects but has run amok and become disfigured caricatures and pseudo religions. Feminism: a Dorian Grey exhibit....Only Multiculturalism is generally accepted as an idea that didn't work....But it's still pushed because they are so scared of being criticised.

None of these conceptual diseases have gained wide traction in Japan....and when I look at their socially cohesive society I quite rightly point the finger of blame in the direction of the left....but also their enablers on the right who also ran with these unmoderated ideas.

I am certainly no fan of how the Tories have handled education. I agree with them that an emphasis upon British history is a good thing...but that's about it.....turning education into a business type institution which started with Clarke was so damaging...As was the manner in which the curriculum was handled and has been used since...though the educational establishment, with its own dogma, is just as much to blame for that.....And Ofsted, an expensive 'bulls***' ideological exercise designed for political arse covering.

The Demographic 'Fertility crisis' seems to have hit all the hi-tech parts of South-East Asia. Those that are under American economic/political influence.

Japan, Singapore, South Korea. Not having babies. And all going extinct as a consequence. Less of a lifestyle choice than a failure of an economic system. Failing to support and nurture its populace.

You cannot have a family when you cannot afford to. Maybe wait until you are ancient and then have just one kid ? or maybe buy in to an ideology of lifestyle choice & nihilism ? Why have kids when you can alternatively get a new iPhone ?

100 years into the Future, will the japanese nation even exist anymore ? With a population that are over-sexualised and under-fecund ? Where every twenty-something has no kids, awaiting inheriting the family castle. And all the elderly living to age 99 ? And the thirty-somethings also putting off parenthood until their forties.

Been saying it for years.

We need to have more babies. Having a larger family needs to be incentivised. We will become extinct as a recognisable identity if we don't very soon.

What we have done to this country is nothing short of scandalous.

if 'we' is employed people, with an historic family link to the country ...i agree. For Japan or anywhere else.

If fertility statistics are propped up by the long-term unemployed ? not so much. And if all the old nation fails to reproduce while any newcomers are the only ones reproducing.....the Japanese would not embrace that willingly. Clearly it would be taking on the characteristics more of a colonization than demographic continuity.

Already seen in some populations of American-indians......effectively removed from the archive of history. First they stopped having babies, then Europeans moved in and did.

Lessons for the UK ?
Maybe young Nigel & Sharon need to get off the pill and bear the consequences ? broke ? so what, the Blitz generation had it harder than you.

Japan is a wonderful country

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Ever heard of someone called Blair, quite popular in the late 90's.
