He managed us for about 40 games that season. He doesn't deserve 'worstest' manager contention. Teams work out how teams play when it's obvious as well we know anyway. We struggled when Garvan was out. That's when we slipped away.

Holloway had us for 32 games in the Championship, excluding the play-offs, of which we won 11, drew 12 and lost 9; compare with 8 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses pre-Holloway.

We had to play a significant number of games without Garvan or Moritz. The downturn coincided with his injury. Check out the results and his injury. Better still, the programme results page at the end of the season. We brought in Jacob butterfield and the ex Brighton love didn't we? When Garvan came back in and on form we recovered.

A run of 11 results for Freedman doesn't make a season. If he'd stayed he could've proved it but didn't he just love an Italian style draw? Ask Bolton fans. 6th with 90 mins to go. Draws and we finish 6th above them. Cheers Doug.

In my time supporting Palace.
Dario Gradi
Ron Noades
Ernie Walley
Paul Hart
Frank de Boer

And should never have returned managers Allison & Warnock

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Wasn't disagreeing, just adding the stats.

I do think that Holloway made some tactical errors, especially trying to have Bolasie and Zaha play as inside forwards when we had been successful all season with out-and-out wingers supplying Murray.

Yes it was probably unnecessary. That's the trouble with managers. They all have to meddle. Only the successful ones recently haven't too much. Pulis, Sam, Pardew. I still think we would've been worked out and Garvan did coincide with the end of our run. Holloway could've done better and Freedman ultimately failed when the play offs were there. That's why you can't be sure on Freedman. Needs a capable firm win and defends for 90.

We finished 5th.
If Bolton had won they'd have finished 6th 1 point behind us & Leicester would have missed out.

In recent times it's Taylor. What a let down. Devoid of any ideas, as we're the players

I would describe Burley as hasty and shoddy. Tried to play good football with people giving the ball away and nobody to cover it behind them. How many times did we concede from passing attacks in the final third?

Have to agree...we started off really well under him playing some sublime football...and pretty much like running to fast...sooner or later you end up in a heap as the brain catches up and overthinks how fast you're running...the end was an absolute car crash...finished by that awful game on NY day at Millwall where even Puncheon scored a hatrick against us...I remember getting drunk somehwere in london straight afterwards!

I think Burley probably got drunk straight after his post match sacking too.

It was a big ask to go from 10 pro players after admin and into passing and attacking at will. Freedman played the aftermath spot on, dropping wilf for his and our sakes. Also keeping 4 defenders and 2 midfielders almost always behind the ball. Where he overdid it was playing the same the next season. A good league start, brings on Murray v Blackpool at home and Garvan, Ambrose and Murray's instinctive understanding tore them to shreds in the 2nd half. We were unplayable and I don't know how we didn't win in emphatic style. No more of that as we retreated to safety always.
