we'll go on a run for sure, win four out of five or close to it. Roy's a perfect fit for us and the difference he's made is plain to see - he fell short at Liverpool and for England, but he's highly competent, very intelligent and a decent bloke. We'll murder Everton, they had their share of luck today, and then Stoke will get their annual Selhurst beating before the Brighton bubble gets well and truly burst by their old nemesis. Keep the faith - 14th here we come!

It's not bad luck that we're not scoring it's bad finishing. It may have been slightly unlucky that Benteke was injured but only because we didn't have a back up striker, which has nothing to do with luck, that's bad management. We're getting the same amount of chances as when he was fit and still cocking them up. I can't see him coming back and changing anything tbh, I really hope I'm wrong and it's not definite we're going down by a long chalk (well maybe a short chalk) but I'd be very pleasantly surprised if we don't.

We can't rely on luck. Luck will ebb and flow. What we can't expect is that luck will even out over a season. By definition it is unpredictable. Luck will on average even out over a long period of time, but one season is not a long period of time. A long period could for example be 47 games, or 73 ,or 96, or it may take until 125 games, for all anyone can guess. At any point in time that it's even, the next game's luck, will, as likely as not, be uneven, so your analysis of luck then needs to be reset, because it's become uneven again. You can't make your own luck. Luck is luck- good or bad. If you make it yourself, it's not luck. Take for instance when throwing dice: an example is seven heads in a row of a fair die, the chances of the next throw being a head is still 50%. Eight heads in a row, and the next throw of a fair die will still give a 50:50 chance of a head. The historical run of outcomes does not affect the future outcome- for an unloaded die.

Agree with everything apart from dice have 6 sides numbered 1 to 6 and coins have two sides, heads or tails.
