What about an electric trap? Runs of batteries and you would juat need to make sure it is kept dry and checked regularly
I used a humane trap. They are annoying as you have to release the b******s somewhere which is a schlep

you will never get rid of rats, the breed so quickly, little/big buggers are sneaky as well

The adult rat we found was the size of a guinea pig, with a tail around the same length again.

I have a wire-haired fox terrier, but don't want her to get bitten by a rat, because rats carry disease, plus there is now poison in the environment, which could impact rat predators.

I don't count cats as predators as such, because they kill for fun, not for food.

Rat V Cat
My dad and I had a telephone discussion last night over whether a rat or cat would win in a fight. I thought cats always win, as there is recent evidence to support this from our neighbours cat.
My Dad thought that if a Rat lunged for a Cat's jugular, it has plenty of teeth to do the job. Teeth which can go through even concrete over time.
I thought that only happened in James Herbert books, and cats were more intelligent, agile, too big and weaponised to be victorious every time.
thoughts anyone ?

Best thing to get...a Cat!

Seriously...any time I've had an issue when moving into a new home...the cat goes out kills a few and they all disappear!
