doi209 Fighting for the weak and innocent... 26 Jan 18 12.01pm | |

So what were 24 year olds doing with underage boys in a stolen car at 88 mph ? Do any of these people deserve sympathy when they obviously know they are breaking the law ( and not a minor offence ). Me - no sympathy at all to any of them. They got what they deserve.

No sympathy for the older two or the driver, who should've got at least 30 years and a life ban from driving. His age is no mitigating factor. The other 3 younger ones you don't know if one of the older lads was an uncle or some such relation, so I wouldn't state that got what they deserve.

There but for the grace of God... I know I've done REALLY stupid things (particularly when a lot younger, and a lot drunker). As stupid as their behaviour was, they didn't set out to physically hurt anyone, and the younger ones, in particular, could have been coerced. Once in a car (whether or not you knew it to be stolen) there's not much you can do to stop the driver driving like a tw@t. Sympathy? Yes, but I'm glad, if someone had it die, it was them and not innocent bystanders Edited by npn (26 Jan 2018 12.48pm)

It does seem that killing people with a car gets a much lesser sentence than killing people with anything else, intentional or otherwise.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

It's better than it used to be, previously it was something like a maximum of 6 years. The stupid part of the new rules is that you can get life if under the influence of drink or drugs, but you can't get life if you drive without a licence or while banned.
