Really, really gutted about this. I saw him play quite a lot as a young lad for Chelsea, when he played in a slightly more advanced role with our own Ray Lewington playing the holding role behind him. He was a freakishly great passer with both feet.

Not absolutely sure but believe he was instrumental in arranging for Chelsea to play us in a friendly when we were in administration and they let us keep all the money raised.
I am determined to live until I am as old as I look. |

Broke the news to someone who knew Wilkins and used to play with him in Chelsea reserves in the 70s.He was very emotional. Wilkins was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed by so many people. RIP
