Maybe I'm being mad but can anyone explain why if a country closes it's transfer window, they can't also stop outgoings to other counties? Although unlikely, losing Wilf outside the window would be hell It's a prem rule not a FIFA/UEFA one. Why would the club accept any offer for Zaha? Too late to use the money now and barring a freak injury will still be worth as much if not more next year and he's on a long contract.

However, if their medium and/or long term plan is for the projected London franchise to play at White Hart Lane than the Khan deal for Wembley may scupper that. One or two or even three games a year isn't all that much and the NFL isn't the most trustworthy partner. If Khan does buy Wembley and moves the Jaguars there he'll own the territorial rights to London and could cut into Spuds income from that arrangement. Don't underestimate the NFL's ability to unilaterally change any "deal" they may make. Cities in this country have learned to regret that foolishness. See San Diego, which sold its soul for a Super Bowl, and St. Louis as two of many examples.

The thing is the pitch/field are on interchangeable trays from what I've read. That means the football pitch wouldn't be used for gridiron. Also, if they do get an NFL franchise it would restrict the Premier League from scheduling them at home on Sundays since the time it takes to change field/pitch trays is too long. As for Khan getting Wembley I hope you're right but the FA has never really turned down a big payday even when it's to their detriment. Meanwhile, Garth Crooks must have a whole lot of egg on his face for that crack about Wilf being gettable by Spuds for £70 million. Edited by kenbarr (09 Aug 2018 3.57pm)

It might also have made that Pogba deal a bit more attractive. That had a CD in it, with Mina ,which they now appear unlikely to sign

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle For a week up until the beginning of this week I’ve heard so many tw&ts on the radio saying ‘He’s got to leave Palace.’ He’s got to leave to play at a higher level of because he lose oxygen in Croydon and Beckenham? These will be the same idiots who’ll rip into him if it doesn’t work out or he sits on the bench for over 80% of his time or comment he’s not a big club player and possibly he shouldn’t have joined a big club. The media is full of idiots now there’s very few I’ll take notice of apart from a few recent retirees in Danny Murphy and Gary Neville’s time.
