Being a fan is one thing, throwing away your fortune is something else. As for Parish, leaving the club in a better place? Man...that's one hell of an understatement. You only have to survey the wreckage of most other similarly sized clubs to ours to see that. In my book no one is beyond criticism. However, that's not what I'm saying. Everyone makes mistakes and there's nothing wrong with pointing that out. However, the reality is Parish has made many many good holistic decisions for this club. In my book he's a legend.

Exactly, amazing how many are quick to criticize SP just because they throw a few quid at the club every couple of weeks. He's managed far more than the previous chairman, using not just his own, but other shareholders cash & here we are with a 6th season in the premiership, something many fans dreamt of but never imagined under the previous ownerships.

I pray he stays but if he wants to try his talent in Europe then I do understand that too. We need to decide one way or another as soon as possible as the transfer window is going to be really tough as it is a World Cup year. I think Bolasie could be worth a move as like Zaha he is much happier being a big fish in a small pond and with the spare change maybe Redmond too or even back to WBA for Burke as I still think he has huge potential assuming both get relegated. Personally I would love us just to come out and say he is not for sale at any price and that Zaha comes out and flatly says he will not leave the club he loves. But maybe that is wishful thinking!

A perfectly worded and accurate post, well said that man. Some supporters would have us back in financial dire straights in an instant. No parish isn’t perfect but he’s as close to it as we’ve had in my lifetime. On zaha, if he wants another shot at a big club, he’s earned it, I’ll be gutted as he’s worth the price of my season ticket on his own but I trust the board will get the best price they can and use the money effectively. I don’t for one second think they’ll sell unless he asks to leave, even at £60 mil it wouldn’t be worth it as we’d have to use the money to replace him and he as much as anyone comes near to guaranteeing premier league status which is worth that in one season alone.

Personally I don’t think Wilf will leave us this summer but what gets me is the paltry prices for him that are bandied about. £50 or £70 million is nothing in today’s market! Why on earth would we sell him for less than Liverpool got for Coutinho? All this talk about going to Spurs is a joke. Wilf is a remarkable talent and we are no longer a club that has to sell. His value to us and his replacement level are way over the prices bandied about by so called pundits. If he ever goes I want him to go to one of the giants like Real Madrid but only for a massive fee well in excess of £100 million !
