I got through the whole series so quickly, thought it was brilliant. If anyone has ever lost anyone really close to them I think this capture's it perfectly and I thought he managed to blend the heartbreak with humour superbly. Probably my favourite Gervais work so far.

I hadn't even heard of this, I'll check it out tonight. As it happens the other day I was watching highlights of his Golden Globes performance. Sticking it to those Hollywood types Edited by dollardays (16 Mar 2019 5.22pm)

Watched the whole thing, it seemed a bit tired and same old same old Gervais. Preaching about society masquerading as humour. There were a couple of bits that made me laugh so not a total waste. I was expecting a bit more depth, it all felt a bit easy and obvious in the end. Overall, he's on the wane. 6/10.

I ended up checking this out over two night. Though I think Gervais' writing is more real to life and fleshed out with Merchant I really enjoyed it. Plenty of touching and funny moments. The humour combined with a really dark downbeat tone made for a unique watch.

So what’ has everyone thought of series two? I thought series one to be one of the best things I’d seen in years but I think this has surpassed it. Really didn’t know how they could of done a second series but Ricky as usual nailed it. For those not seen I strongly recommend it.

Same here, but Ricky Gervais is a genius, how he can make something so sad and touching yet so funny and get the balance just right is incredible, loved it The series 2 outtakes on you tube are hilarious, as you can imagine Ricky Gervais must be a nightmare to work with(in a good way) even if he’s not in a scene, all you can hear is him laughing in the back ground
