45 million for him from Leicester, I thought we did well for 45m for AWB, obviously not, a carthorse, and a thug, unbelievable.

He is a threat at set-pieces,reads the game well and puts his body on the line by making blocks etc.A boyhood Chelsea fan who used to idolize John Terry and has a dog named after Didier Drogba !

After the Maguire transfer the fees for experienced Prem CB’s have gone through the roof, plus Leicester have a lot of money to buy one after selling Maguire. Neither are value IMO.

I did actually post on here we should possibly buy him before their promotion season. I can’t stand the cvnt but that’s a kind of compliment, even if he’s limited, but then this is CB. I wouldn’t want 2 of his mind next to each other though.

AWB is a right back and the fees for that position haven’t gone off the scale like CB’s after the Virgil Van Dyke transfer which mean almost any are now expensive.

I don't think he's worth £45m but he is his prime age for a CB and has 2 England caps. To compare it to AWB's fee is not really apples for apples. You are comparing experience Vs potential.

If he's £45m though it does make you think Tomkins was a bargain!

As with Maguire, I just find this insane. Neither player appears to be anything other than a Delaney type player. Strong, passionate and body on the line. However, knock a ball over the top and the only thing either is capable of is committing a foul. Effective in a deep-lying position, but massively over-priced in my view.

Yep. Maguire is better on the ball and can carry it forward, but he’s nothing special. VVD is exceptional and Maguire’s price should be nowhere near VVD’s. Dunk is basic like you say but will look better in a better team, especially compared to BHA last season who were opened up like a fete several times a Saturday last season.

Spot on, no pace, no skill, no distribution skills, but a great forehead.

Both players are not the quickest although Sami Hyypia, Dunk's manager said a few years back that he was quite quick.
Both are strong in the air and a threat at set-pieces but Maguire is more comfortable on the ball with the ability to bring the ball out of defence.
In terms of passing, I have seen both players hit some decent diagonal balls.

Hoping that the Weeds somehow manage to blow their Dunk windfall on some useless players who weaken the team even more. Then we can wave goodbye to them from a third-time-lucky Palace perspective.
