I will throw another name in the hat of possible replacements, Roger Schmidt of PSV. A manager in the mould of Hussenhuttl. High pressing, fast attacking. Job at PSV may be in doubt. This is the sort of person we should be looking at but, of course, he needs the right type of players. Gallagher anyone? Edited by Spiderman (15 Feb 2021 10.32am) Is this the same Hassenhuttl who over the last few years has faired no better than our beloved Roy?

TBF Guiata was totally blocked off, legally apparently for the header. If Dann does not have the mobility RH shouldn’t have picked him. I agree about the performances although Brighton at home is right up there. My view is that Guaita had to be far more assertive in that situation.All-in-all it was an awful goal to concede. Apropos Dann, I suspect that he wouldn't have played if Tomkins was fit. Both Dann and Cahill have been found wanting this season, both in the 'Twilight' of their careers.

I always rated him but the more I watch him I think he needs to be dropped. I said yesterday that he is a big reason we get battered under crosses, he stays rooted to his line and every team knows this, his shot stopping is his only plus.

Hodgson has done the job I would expect him to do with the resources available; in the same way as Pardew and Allardyce before him. I was thinking the same the other day. After Ollie's sweet shop raid in the transfer market with the likes of Kebe and Marange, the players that got us promoted without Wilf scrapped for their lives under him. Think there was a realisation that it was going to be a hard slog just to stay up that they really put in a shift. Doesn't seem to be anything like this around the club at the moment. Hopefully results like at Goodison last night might induce a few players to up their games.
