Absolutely no chance of getting a single one of them apart from Bilic and maybe Frank.

How Bilic is an upgrade on RH I'm really not sure, and whilst Frank has done a good job in the championship, so did Freedman, and Holloway. They are both available if you like?

Bilic took West Ham squad to 7th in the league he got west brom promoted with a s***e squad. They will go down even with Allardyce. If you seriously belive no manager could do better then 4 wins in 24 with this squad then you are daft. Hodgson has turned a 15 goal a season striker into a donkey a generational talent into a isolated striker who don't want to be here and has inspired nobody. Do you think players want to sign for Hodgson every ex player he had seems to hate him except Danny Murphy.

OK, so from the many posts so far, a handful have lived in the real world long enough to suggest a replacement for the man they want sacked.

Suggestions include:

1. Internal appointment (Derry, McCarthy).
2. Thomas Tuchel. Last seasons losing champions league finalist.

and also

3. jeeagles grandmother.

I'm not sure which of these suggestions is most comical to be honest.

Look, I don't enjoy watching Palace grind out results playing anti-football, or getting stuffed when they even try to play a little, but thats the real world. We've hit the glass ceiling. This is as high as we can ever, ever get unless something big changes in the non-football side of the club.

The point I am trying to make is that there isn't a coach out there who can break that ceiling for us. Whoever we could get would be not produce a side any less flawed than Roy does - they may be flawed in different ways, but that's all.

No you asked to name a Manager who could do better than Roy - that question has been answered.

Now your changing the goalposts and going on about whether they would come - not ours to determine or decide.

In any event we are a London premiership club of 8 years standing - and if we have aspirations to develop we should be looking for a quality replacement.

Not necessarily Tuchel but others have been mentioned Benitez, Gerard, Frank etc.. that you have chosen to ignore.

So your original question answered and point disproved..!!

Now perhaps your get off your high horse..!!

I'm not saying that nobody could ever do better, what I'm saying is that:

1. There isn't a manager alive who could take us to the mythical 'next level' until the club grows significantly off the field. Until then mid table is our lot, whoever gets us there, and using whatever methods.

2. You don't sack a manager without having someone lined up who is not a replacement, but also an improvement.

Bilic is a journeyman coach. I wouldn't object to his appointment if we already had a vacancy, but he isn't an upgrade on Hodgson.

Not unreasonable to ask for the suggestions to be realistic.
I don’t think our Mickey Mouse behaviour in recent transfer windows, want away owners or squad age will be lost on many.

Ask Eddie Howe to take over and move Roy upstairs.

I'm pretty sure I asked for feasible options, but even if I didn't I'd think its fairly obvious that's what we need.

Otherwise it's an easy game. I'll play the following hand:

Klopp, with Guardiola as assistant manager.

Any manager who can win more games then the current one is an upgrade how can you defend a man who plays 442 when we clearly don't have the players for it.

I'm not defending anyone. I'm pointing out that which should be obvious to anyone - you need an upgrade if you're going to change the manager otherwise its pointless sacking the one you have.

Doesn't seem like an unreasonable point to make.

I don't have a name of a manager off the too of my head but I'd put my neck on the line to say that I feel that a plethora of candidates could inspire greater play than what has been played in the last two games. Do I believe most managers could do better than the team selections of late, the very late subs which some would find bizarre and the lack of player rotation outside of our forever rotating and aging defence .... Yes.

Quite simply. Roy looks as lost as to what to do with this squad as he is for words of insight at a press conference as to what is failing.

We need a manager who's going to give the team a kick up the rear end and someone with a bit of guile to hit it home to the players that their attitude and their lack of composure and concentration isn't good enough.

Not a manager who is in the twilight of his managing career who looks worn out by crap play from players who aren't showing up.

I may not have a manager in mind but I'm damn sure I'm not the only one to feel this way.

We can pull managers names out of thin air but frankly its not our problem to come up with a hypothetical solution to a managerial s***house.

As I said feasibility is for the club to determine/decide.

As others have said there are many, young and hungry Managers out there that could do a far better job than Roy with this squad.

Compare us and Southampton - difference a young, hungry and ambitious Manager - know one had heard of Hasenhüttl 2 years ago..!!

If Southampton can do it why not Palace?

Personally I think Thomas Frank would be an excellent and exciting appointment.

For me, this boils down to the difference between complaining and moaning.

If there are alternative coaches out there who would (on probability at least) both come to Palace and also improve the team, then saying 'Roy out' is a complaint against the club not acting.

Saying 'Roy out' whilst having no idea who he could be replaced with is just moaning.

I've plenty of time for the former (even if I think upgrading Hodgson is actually a harder task than many on here), but not much time for the latter.

The succession planning for life after Roy should be fairly advanced now in as much that there should be dialogue between the club and candidates. The next couple of games are crucial and if things don't improve the board have to make a decision to bring the replacement in now, go for a caretaker, or pray that Roy can get enough points on the board to stay up. Each option has its own risks. If the Roy replacement is available there's a good argument to get them I sooner rather than later.
