So I've just seen a crunching tackle in the Chelsea everton game and the player won the ball but he followed through the player and it was a foul and yellow card! Everyone agreed yes it's a foul. But in the penalty area if the same tackle is made I've noticed over the few weeks even tho the player follows through and gets the player he touches the ball first then it's not a foul? Has anyone else thought this or am I going mad?

You’re absolutely right. This is becoming a real issue as we see the slightest touch on the ball in the box means it’s not a foul (when often it clearly is) but outside the box we’re seeing red and yellow cards given, even when the ball is not only touched but won fairly. The inconsistencies and contradictions are yet again all due to VAR and the bizarre interpretations now being applied. Edited by Phil’s Barber (12 Dec 2020 9.39pm)

As long as someone is offside you can do what you like in the area too. VAR sh1t.
