We’ll score 0, anyone’s guess is how many they’ll fancy scoring, hopefully they’ll declare before it gets too embarrassing

By rights with our injuries and the difference in quality we should get taken apart, but what we do have are players who since Roy announced his retirement look hell bent on sending him out on a high. I've never seen players like Kouyate and Bentenke look as passionate for us as they did on Wednesday (almost to the point of getting sent off!). If Tomkins starts alongside Cahill we should have a bit more of a chance, although if Bentenke is out that would be a massive blow. I really, really hope we win just so we don't have to hear a patronising speech from Klopp about Roy. Instead I'd like Roy to be able to hand him a tissue at the end of the game. Nevertheless, as much as I want it, I just think a result is beyond us unless we get a lot of luck. 4-2 Liverpool after a valiant battle from our lads.

The odds are heavily against, possibly in the region of a 4-0 defeat, but as Jimmy Greaves used to say: 'Football is a funny ol' game!'

i predict a foray North into hostile territory. We are the Roman Legions with the Eagle. Saxon Liverpool is the Teutoberg Forest. Jurgan Klopp will give us a true German wilkommen. Edited by PalazioVecchio (23 May 2021 12.26pm)

It'd be nice to bollocks up their champions league aspirations, but I can't see it. Rumour has it they have slightly better players than us.

There was a time not so long ago when on our day and with a fair wind behind us we could beat anyone. Okay it wasn't a regular occurrence but in our stay in the PL we have, for example, beaten Chelsea at home twice and away twice. We beat Liverpool 3 seasons on the trot at Anfield. We have beaten Man.City at home and away. However I just don't feel that anymore. Yes we did beat Man.Utd at the beginning of the season but since then we seem to have become less and less competitive against the big teams. One reason for this , perhaps the main one, is our poor defensive record this season. When we are put under pressure by a quality attack at some point we crumble. As such I can't see anything but a defeat this afternoon.

I'll watch until we're about 2-0 down. So probably for about 25mins or so. The weather's nice.

If I was a Crystal Palace player in that 7-0 defeat I'd be looking for an opportunity to exact some revenge on Liverpool. For some, it will be their last opportunity to do so. Pride also comes after a fall so I'd expect us to scrap for everything. COYP.
