Even if the points comparison season on season isn’t exactly correct, it’s difficult to argue with your assessment.
Concern over performances in the last couple of months are not restricted to just a few knee jerk fans who react to each defeat as a crisis.
If we repeat our form over the last 11 games for the rest of the season we will be relegated so the rot has to stop.
For what it’s worth, I think we will improve but I am concerned as to where the goals will come from.
A lot of faith is being placed on the return of Zaha, but even he looked out of form before his injury showing none of his early season spark.
I think it could be a case of looking for three teams who will be worse than us.

Regarding Olise and Eze, the club invested in the belief that they would make the step up, viewing that they had the potential to do so. Both still have a lot to do to make the grade. One looks like he may do so, the other I don't think so. Both have ability, but the game is mental as well as physical, and application to the task is everything. We have a surfeit of attacking midfielder / winger types on the books, and I don't think we need both. Rak Sayki will return and make the breakthrough, and knows what it means to play in a Palace shirt.

If you think we’re better than all of those teams I’d love to have some of what you’re on.
The teams mentioned don’t have to field two keepers on the bench as we have had to do on a number of occasions this season.
Some of them have at least far better options in both full back positions, central midfield and up front.
In terms of genuine Premier League ability on a CONSISTENT basis we have Guita, Anderson, Guehi, Zaha and McCarthur when fit.
The jury is still out on Olise, Eze, Doucoure and Mitchell.
They’re hit and miss but could still make it if they step up consistency levels.
It’s too early to assess Richards.
Mateta and Edouard have shown nothing to indicate that they will be reliable goalscorers at Premier League level season upon season.
Ward, Clyne, Tomkins, Ayew dand Schlupp have all seen better days and are not long term solutions.
I’m not talking the club down but making what I consider to be a realistic assessment .
As to your point that if we beat Brentford the sentiment will change , I think you may be right.
That’s the fickle nature of being a football fan.

We did indeed.

However the season before, under Roy, we had 29 for a bit of perspective (I looked at wrong season ).

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Eze and Olise need better players around them to get the full potential out of them.

Firstly, they need better full backs behind them. Mitchell has been so disappointing lately, whilst Ward/Clyne are stop gaps.

Secondly, we so badly need a better midfield who can press and retain the ball.

Lastly, we need forwards who can put away chances that Eze and Olise can create.

Once again, we are expecting a winger to get us out of trouble.
