Be interested in hearing the first team talk whereby the new manager tries to motivate them by telling them he believes they are not a bunch of lazy arseholes as suggested in some quarters, rather they are a talented bunch who have lost their way, however now is a good time to go out and play with confidence blah blah. If not relegation threatens your income stream, and your place at the club. If you think you can do better elsewhere, put your hand up now because there will be no time for shirkers.

His name is ROY.

He's attended a couple of recent games. I can't see any alternative to him perhaps being taken on in a caretaking role until the summer. He knows the club and some of the players. We're in a potential relegation struggle and need to react quickly. Sorry for Veira but our board wouldn't spend their cash and now realise the golden goose isn't laying. All the untold riches of the PL are now at risk.

Dougie Freedman- Temp charge till the end of the season.

Firstly i think he deserves a chance to manage a team in the Prem for few games..

He knows the squad and their abilities
Knows how to manage individual players
Knows how to set up a team to be contained but also to attack
Undoubtably he will increase the work rate of this team

i honestly think he is best placed to get the most from this team in a short period of time.

Works for me - except that Paddy McCarthy is running the team at Arsenal along with Darren Powell - so someone has other ideas!
Roy until the end of the season maybe?

All due respect to Roy, but that just about sums up the level of panic that has set in at the club.
The only thing that would make this gamble a reasonable one is if Parish, had a current talent ready to fill the position. So far on here it’s ,Derry, a guy that couldnt cut it , in the fourth division, Mc,Carthy, no managerial experience, Dougie, a clear case of one hit wonder. I have the greatest respect for Roy, but wasn’t he the old boy many couldnt ,see the back of quick enough a couple of seasons back?
As the remaining fixtures have winnable games in them we could survive, but everything starts to look very Championship quiet honestly because no game can be won if you don’t score and we don’t. There is no reason to believe any of those mentioned here would alter that all important factor.

Roy is a dangerous appointment. there is no guarentees here that he has the ability or time needed to turn this group of players around.
It seems like a safe choice - a he knows The club done Well in the Past etc etc, but I think Roy would be a mistake.

we need someone who will give them a right b0ll0cking and inject a bit of Energy on the pitch. And who gives us the best chance of Survival - without drastically changing playing styles.

That's Bielsa. give him the rest of the season, then if he impresses keep him on.
I'm not sure on him for a long term appointment, but quite frankly sacking your manager at this stage in the season we haven't the luxury of thinking too far into the future. It's all about survival now.

The likes of Carrick and Kompany aren't the right choice for now.
Lamps, Gerrard aren't right for a dogfight. Unsure about Hassenhutl, think he'll need a bit of time to turn us around...
Bielsa is the one for me that will have the most instant impact on a group of underperforming (+unfit) players.

Wish Paddy well.
However, given the gravity of the situation,an appointment of an experienced manager with perhaps Paddy as his assistant, would be a better option.
This is not the time for experiments!!

Have to agree. Thats a huge risk

I don’t think the current squad have the fitness levels to play a high intensity game other than is short bursts.
I was at Brighton this week and for the first 15 mins we played with real intensity, but you knew that it would not be sustained over 90 mins.
For the key upcoming games post Arsenal we have to play cleverly and not ask players to do things that they are not adept at.
The likes of Eze, Edouard , Olise are not going to bust a gut for 90 minutes so you need to retain defensive solidity and try and get the better players to deliver at key moments which can be match deciding.
Easier said than done I know, but I recall in Leicester’s title winning season Mahrez was frequently their match winner when only having few touches of the ball.
His quality on the ball was the deciding factor.
