Agree with earlier poster re Clinton Morrison. Great pundit and true Palace through and through. Ian Wright not fit to clean his boots in the Palace loyalty stakes.

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978

I agree Wrighty appeared peeved we’re doing so well under Hodgson. Maybe he wanted Roy to fail to discredit PV’s sacking. Who knows… but he did come across as a sulky Sue.

Met him at a golf day - miserable as sin.

Wright is an Arsenal legend. Few people realise he played for Palace.

Wright was also a Palace legend, but no more. He did show himself to be a bit of a p.... on MOTD2. Palace gave you your start in football at a late age. A bit of humility would be in order

Clinton didn't even want to see the Leeds goal. He's a real Palace head. His attire was toned down a bit, however.

I don't really care to be honest about Ian wright. I grew up with him as an Arsenal legend.

Wright and Bright banging them in was by far the best we've ever been up front. It was wonderful to behold. A lot of the stick is still bitterness that he left. It was a bitter pill to swallow at the time. And only a couple of million. I feel sorry for fans that never saw it.

Can't remember where he said it, but I recall him saying it wasn't he who initiated the move to the @rse. Said he'd have been happy to stay but the board wanted the cash. He with Brighty were formidable.

I too got a bit irritated with the constant use of "we" in his Arsenal punditry. I do however realise he was damaged goods mentally - his Desert Island Discs appearance revealed that very clearly.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

He's human. He has off-days, I guess.

In 1994 I was at the filming of the Channel 4 show The Word, and I ended up in the Green room after the filming was complete. Palace were at home to Arsenal the following day.
For some reason not completely obvious, Ian Wright was there, with a bunch of his mates. After a little while, when he seemed to be on his own for a little bit, I thought I’d say hello, and, despite all his badge kissing antics, I wanted to thank him for all he’d done for Palace over the years.
I walked over, said hi and got as far as saying that I supported Palace when he went into a f-word strewn rant about how Palace had asked him to stay away, and how dare they after all he had done for the club. I stood there for literally 2 minutes, unable to get a word in. After he finished swearing at me, he turned and walked away while his gang all stared at me.
The next day was the game he snuck into the away end and halfway thought the game, stood up with his arms aloft so the whole ground could see him.
I can see why the majority of the country thinks he’s an alright bloke, but my one experience of him was 100% tosser

But even Clinton criticized the decision to sack PV, there seems to be a PV fan club who for some reason i cannot say, seem to ignore his record and concentrate on other aspects of him.
