2. At my advanced age I suspect sclerotic tortoises with severe cruciate ligament damage would move with greater rapidity than I would on the dance floor.

The definition of a gentleman is a man who knows how to play the bagpipes but doesn't.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

more power to your elbow. The word refers to that part of the body. And instead of blowing into the bag, one uses a fireplace-type bellows to generate more air pressure. Hence the different range of notes.

it also explains why the Uileann pipes are normally played from a seated position.....its feckin impossible to march/stand while playing them.

you see pipes in Morocco, Galicia, Brittany, India, medieval Italy, Flanders and lots of other places. Every country seems to have a unique playing-style and technical arrangement for the instrument.

Although i cant stand the Bagpipes, John Farnham-The Voice wasnt bad.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn
