Maybe take a few large tents for camping, and it the weather's good you could have a few BBQ's.

Like anything its broadly based on budget. But it is a bit of a midfield.

From memory there are a couple of options.

Do it yourself - obviously the cheapest, but also the least chance of seeing anything. There is all sorts of accom in Kruger.

Guided in Kruger - so stay in Kruger and jsut arrange for however many safaris you want

Private game reserves. I think there are some of these in Kruger, but most are around the outside of the park. They are so vast that you would never know there there are fences anywhere.

I've only ever been once and stayed in a private reserve (Bongani Mountain Lodge). It was EPIC. Some of the best days of my life.
2 game drives a day (which is pretty usual I think for the private reserves).

Some friends jsut got back from the pumba private game reserve, also looked pretty epic.

Thanks mr Robbo , been looking at prices and it’s mind boggling the differences some are a grand for a week others are like 30 grand! I checked your bognami one but it looks like the locals burnt it down due to an arguemrnt over hunting rights, I will get it right , everyone else will have a great time I’m sure while I stress out as usual

Yeah I saw that, huge shame as we sent out honeymoon there.

As with everything you'll find most value at the lower end. The 30k a week ones aren't in reality 30x better than a 1k one. Just there for the people who have G's to spare.

At the end of the day, its really only about seeing the animals.

Might even be worth asking someone like travel counsellors to get you some options. No fee if you don't go with them, but in my experience they are still cheaper (including their cut) than going direct. And nice for someone to do the leg work
