There's not even an agreed definition of what WOKE is, let alone whether you can suggest it applies to an entire country.

It seems too many people on this discussion don’t really understand what “woke” means.

The correct definition of “woke” is being 'alert to and concerned about social injustice and discrimination'. It’s about understanding that not everybody has the same advantages & the same opportunities, and seeking to do something about that. That means that if you’re a white man you’re concerned about any discrimination your sister or your black friends are subject to - and they’ll be concerned about any discrimination that might affect you.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought it was blaming absolutely everything on the wicked Tories and Brexit and admiring arsonists and looters in France.

In Latin, it translates as 't***'

"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." - 1984 - George Orwell.

Oh do behave! Racist has a new terminology so don’t give me that bollo x. If you think immigration is too much you’re racist, if you think physically changing a child’s sex is wrong you’re homophobic or some crap. Please don’t come on here giving your red al theories without doing research. I would add that in the uk everyone has the same opportunities and choices. If you choose not to be the best you can then tough luck, if you do then meritocracy will answer the reason why not. Not colour, sex, disability or whatever else you use as an obstacle and excuse.!

You’re confusing the truth with what you’ve read in the Daily Mail…

Sadly fyi I don’t read the mail. What I do is watch, listen and conclude. I have concluded that racism has been downgraded to purely anything of a negative opinion against anything involving non indigenous white people. Homophobia is now not agreeing with the alphabets and gay people. Meritocracy ( look it up ) is the only way of choosing an employee best suited. Not the skin colour, disability, gender or sexual orientation. If you don’t think this is true then maybe you should read, watch and conclude!

Empathy!!! In what way is what I wrote not empathetic. I will add that if immigrants are your argument I am totally for ‘real’ immigrants escaping persecution or war being helped to survive and prolong their and their families future. What I’m not for is the piss taking immigrants who come here for financial gain alongside trying to change our western way of life. This forum would go if they get what they want and your girl relations will be unemployed and covered up. Think about that before your next heart breaking march for them !!!

Whilst this may be the case, as with any group that wishes to/is categorised under a banner, the original sentiment and elements of this has been expanded or hijacked by extremes. My biggest grievance always was that which started out as a noble if not just logical cause, such as to eradicate or combat racism and other discrimination, became hijacked by the self serving, those hungry for a dogma to utilise for their own purposes and half wits in a bid to label everything as racist, homophobic etc., directly challenge that which did not serve them personally and distort and warp others' thinking for their own benefit.

This creates a situation which you have brought about where people become conflicted over the conflation between the original sentiment and that peddled by the Machiavellian, creating a seemingly polarised, binary dynamic whereby everyone has to either become Hitler reincarnate or the most left wing, liberal loony in all of Christendom.

Whether anybody likes it or not 'woke' is no longer just about being cognizant of social injustice and discrimination. It is now about actively celebrating homosexuality wherever you can, believing white people, heterosexuals and males are demonic and tyrannical/evil by default, believing mutilating children to align with your ideologies is OK, mass immigration should be supported, so on and so forth. Within your definition it could be described as reactive where it is now not, it is proactive and requires virtually perfect adherence.

It is possible to believe that discriminating against people on the basis of race, religion, sex etc. is something you strongly disagree with and should challenge where it arises can coexist without a want to change the entire fabric of society, worship propaganda and actively campaign for and base your entire identity and purpose on this sentiment constantly. It definitely should not include absolute submission to anything those in control of the narrative cook up whenever it suits them.

'Woke' is no longer a label for that you have articulated, it is in itself a totalitarian, dogmatic ideology which by it's very nature is a direct opponent of logic, reason and social harmony. It will therefore always be defended by those most ideologically compatible and submissive.

Apologies for the poor presentation I am absolutely knackered but responsible for a babski!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

“Woke” was originally, and still is, exactly what I’ve stated. I don’t know what evidence you have that it is now the things you’ve mentioned. Where are children being mutilated, apart from in certain ancient religions? No one who is serious believes that all white people or men are “demonic”. This is all made up stuff you can read in right wing newspapers or hear on GBTV, Twitter etc.
