I see the PL players are moving on from taking the Knee for BLM to the #MeToo campaign.

As in Saudi money #Metoo

Still cant see it ever turning into anything.

Personally I have zero intention of watching any Saudi football, and that's not because of human rights objections, I just don't care. And signing Mbape will not make me care either.

If for example they were in Europe and (similar to PSG) had 1 team assembling a squad to win the CL it would be interesting to keep an eye on. But it isn't so it wont be.

Even using LIV as an example, I went to Centurion last year to see what it was about. And even though I've been loving all the drama, and seeing hte PGA backtrack, I've not tuned in to watch any LIV, despite having some great players.

I didnt think LIV was on the telly anyway . That was why they wanted harmony so they could get TV exposer ?
Anyway money talks and Im sure it wont be long before Saudi teams will be included in European competitions ,Isreal has set the precedent .Then like like golf the only direction to grow is toward the West, they will plough guzzillions into a league that includes all the richest clubs of the world . National leagues will become a side show

And we still need a striker

Maybe either or both of the following ?

a) Strengthening the Saudi League to make it interesting enough to provide a platform to bring football to the pay TV market as a competitor to Qatar's Bein sports ?

b) Strengthening the Saudi league to make it possible for the top teams to be on hand when the time comes to apply for the Super League places ?

I find myself struggling to care and I've almost forgotten about that journalist.

But not about the 19 year old princess , murdered for trying to leave their death cult ,remember her and maybe you will care again .

There were four recent princesses that seemed to go missing but I've also completely forgotten - like everyone else seemingly. Maybe the whole thing was resolved as no one seems to care too much at all.

No chance. No-one will care who wins or loses Saudi Arabian football matches, just as no-one cares who wins (for example) MLS soccer matches or IPL cricket matches. The established leagues are built on decades of heritage, agony and ecstasy. You can't recreate that in 5 years or even 50 years, and particularly not based on a few mercenaries cashing in towards the end of their playing days.

I rather feel this way. For a couple of years it will be a big money bonanza for players who choose to go there, but in time interest will dwindle and nobody outside of Saudi will give two hoots about it.

One question - am I rightly assuming it will be just one league and therefore have the absence of the jeopardy of relegation or motivation of promotion?

Sky Sports had a report linking Mo Salah with a move to the Saudi league and saying they're now offering half the value of the player's contract up front and tax free.

It'll be a real shame to see him go.

Wonder what the refs get paid if players get so much.

More than here but not a vast amount.
Link contains an interesting clip of Ronaldo in action.
