I still find it hard to believe this is going to happen unless they have Johnstone lined up to be sold Of course, if Matthews had to play we would be in real difficulty. The only reason Everton stayed up last year was that their keeper was way better than what Leeds and Leicester had to offer

Have to agree, on the surface this is an odd one. Spending decent money on a keeper (for us) albeit by all accounts obligation to buy next year so will come out of next years budget. Personally I’d give him a go up front

Personally I don't understand signing a keeper, he's a slight upgrade, but still, we don't really need him. We are in desperate need of someone who can find an extra yard and can put the ball in the back of the net, or a full back...or a Wilf replacement...hopefully we can sign another 1 or 2.
