Hopefully come the January window Man City will be sitting on top of the PL with a healthy points margin, still in all of the cups & wont be thinking of strengthening until the summer window comes around again.

Cant say the same about either Chelsea or Newcastle though.

I’m ashamed to confess , even ay my advanced age, that I was taken in by some of the stories involving the transfer of our players in recent weeks.
I was convinced we would lose a centre back - why else would we be ‘bidding’ for young expensive defenders if it wasn’t to replace a departing player?
I thought, as many on here also did, that Olise had gone.
More recently I had thought that Mateta would definitely leave last week.
Now the story emerging today is that Eze would have gone if Man City had topped up their £60 million offer by another £20 million.
I’m sure they could have found another £20 million down the back of the sofa so this story doesn’t ring true with me.
I hope when the transfer madness starts again in January that I will be a bit more sceptical about speculation, but can’t promise that I won’t be taken in by the hype again.

If you search Palace's league position 12 in nationals league , 67 in world league of clubs i suggest Palace, since being
saved from going under has risen and grown stronger.

Accepting our limitations, this has been a pathetic window. A goalkeeper to replace another one, an injured youngster and and a bang average defender for cover, not to mention losing our best player with no replacement.

No striker again? Seriously?

You are.

I hope that a one million pound centre half regains his form but that really doesn't impact on our continuing failure to sign a goalscorer or the other holes in the squad.

When you look at it, Clyne and Ward are barely adequate. Ward had a shocker against Brentford.
Mitchell has no real cover other than players playing out of position.
The midfield is OK, but a few injuries will seriously expose our squad limitations. We couldn't beat Plymouth without bringing on the big guns.
Up front we are poor and have been for a long time. We have nothing beyond Mateta and Edouard, and they are both mediocre.

If Franca had been fit and we actually signed a decent striker instead of all the usual last minute stuff, then things might have look different. As it is, only Lerma is currently looking progressive.

We are where we are, and this window appears to have done little to improve on that.

I feel very positively toward what Steve Parish achieved for this club, but this window is treading water.

My ambition as a supporter of Crystal Palace is to see progression on the field and the stadium rebuild commence as planned.
If Parish is a man of his word, then he wants that even more.

I'm looking forward to the Wolves game and any sign that we are better than last season. As yet I have seen nothing to suggest that.
With no real replacement for Zaha and no new striking options, I'm not optimistic.

It would be nice but I must admit my expectations are lower.

Have they improved the toilets?

Shocking.....mind you that was about a decade ago.

The Arthur Waite toilets are a constant focus of fan disapproval.

I am of the mind that low expectations among fans will hold the club back.
We need to keep the board on their toes.

Steve Parish has admitted that he does what he thinks is right regardless of fan criticism so perhaps there is a need to shout a little louder.
That doesn't mean that his efforts thus far are not appreciated but that sometimes being overcautious can get in the way of progress.

Well, he certainly jumped when the Ultras said how high didn't he.

They really should sort that.

Presumably you refused to cheer the former's two assists and the latter's two goals today then.

Mods, are we able to close this thread now???

It never was ‘News’ in the first place and after all the false promises of who we would sign and the absolute debacle of saying Wilf had re-signed and was about to be announced and also that Lewis Hall had signed, this thread did nothing but serve to mislead and provide mis-information.

Hopefully this nonsense won’t be given the time of day for the next transfer window.

Well said, PB. It was all so predictable. Dazza's BS as usual/get rumbled/flounce.
