I do get the logic, but you look at the effect someone like Rodri has had on City's team, and it's fairly transformative. Even at a lower level, Doucoure had a massive effect for us.

Unfortunately £100 m seams now to be the going rate for a top young player. The thing that seams to have shifted recently is the willingness to pay 100m for someone with 1 year remaining on their contract. How that can be justified is beyond me.

Rice is a very good defensive midfielder ,one of the best even . For £100m though I would be looking for some attacking input to go with his defensive quality . He will improve that part of his game playing for a better side though with gaps being opened up in front of him , Arsenal will be a better side with him in it .
And we still need a striker |

A head scratcher. Exactly what Arsenal need and a great player but I'd like to see some magic for that money.

Arsenal will be better but so will City ,liverpool ,Chelsea ,Newcastle and Man Utd . And as mentioned Rice isnt going to set the world alight in the attacking third .
