I love the prospect of non league teams competing with the big clubs in this famous old cup competition. The final was always a time for a gathering of friends and family to watch on TV after the wrestling. Didn't matter who was playing and it was always the very last game of the season.

Unfortunately we've seen it's value weaken over the years and now the FA are looking to introduce more changes that will further devalue the Cup by abolishing replays, playing early rounds in midweek and ending the stand alone final by playing it on Saturday with all last PL fixtures played the next day. Money talks I guess.

Don't know what anyone else thinks, but to an old codger like me it feels a bit sad.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The more rubbish it gets the better our chances of winning it. Although a fallen big club (Man U, Liverpool or Chelsea this year) will likely get a lifeline with a win ala Clattenburg.

Red and Blue Army!

They are making the changes to accomodate 6 clubs in the PL that play in Europe

Thats rubbish for me ,they dont even take it seriously unless they stumble into the 1/4 finals . Maybe time to say teams in Europe not invited , the rest of the clubs can then play the Cup in the spirit it was intended not to mention giving everyone in it a chance of actually winning it

And we still need a striker

Totally agree. Although it is being played a week before last games but there will be a full league programme on same day. Interesting that the ban on showing 3pm kick offs on TV was to protect attendances elsewhere.
FA have relinquished control of FA Cup to the PL, oh dear!
