It was the manner of his going slagged the club off and has continued to do so see him self as Arsenal through and though.

Wilf all day, he's taken a pay cut to follow his dream. Good luck to the lad.

I couldn't agree more.
Sorry to see you go Wilf, but follow your dream. There's not much time left.

Wilf leaving doesnt hurt but slightly saddens me.
More than any other Palace player in my 60 years of following Palace, no one player has come near to empowering the Palace as much as Wilf has done, nor assisted the club in what has been financially achieved and successfully on the pitch.
Im an old git and no way Wrighty..Johnny Byrne going to W Ham hurt, Peter Taylor moving on... Kenny Samson to the Arse..All were great players and it saddened me to see them go but I am very very clear that none were as exciting and lifted the crowd out of their seats as constantly as Wilf.
This club owes more to him than any other player in the clubs history.Without any doubt.
He deserves to have the new stand( if it ever emerges) named after him.
Despite what others have said, he has shown loyalty for many years in a very finacially and seductive, competive arena/environment.
I wish him the very best and thank him from the bottom of my heart.

Losing Wright was a bigger loss, his influence and goals got us to 3rd in the First Division and nearly won us the FA cup, if it wasn’t for Hughes. He left with his best years ahead of him, Zaha is towards the end of his career and injuries are starting to come more often.

No palace player apart from Kenny Sansom affected me so badly as when Ian Wright left, absolutely gutted. I was down in Cornwall when I heard he’d signed for Arsenal and I nearly jumped off Lizard Point!!! I think with Wrighty as well it was unexpected if I remember right, obviously long before 24 hour news channels, the internet on phones and all this forum and Twitter bollox with the constant rumours, most of them made up, I found out on teletext where we were staying on holiday.

Comparisons are rather pointless, but the simple fact is that Wilfred Zaha was a massive reason why Palace have stayed in the Premier League for a decade. He was a Palace for his entire footballing life, baring one failed season at United, and was the living embodiment of the club in this era.

Ian Wright was prominent for a few seasons before departing and became a top class goalscorer who provided some brilliant moments in our history. Despite that, he only had three seasons in the top flight with Palace and wasn't even top scorer for two of those.
His clowning glory for this club will always be the season we finished third and his cup final goals, but his career will be best remembered for his time at Arsenal.

Writing this, I still can't believe that Zaha has left to play in a Mickey Mouse league. He will regret it quite soon I suspect.

My feeling is that it's still possible that we haven't seen the last of him in a Palace shirt.
