The allure of Champions League football, winning a league title etc are attractive propositions for a new challenge. Fighting for relegation and ending up 12th every season, probably became boring for him. He's done everything he could have for us and being able to play CL football, as well as score against Man U, at Old Trafford, in the Champions League, will be bucket list stuff for him. He is cemented as a Palace and Croydon legend and has nothing more to give us, we too muct move on.

His next move will likely be Saudi or America.

I think we also need to remember that he failed to make enough of an impression to get into the England team, eventually switching allegiance and playing for Ivory Coast. Had he been in the England squad he may have felt that continuing to play in England would maintain any selection. That boat had sailed away and so did Wilf.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

They’re doing well vs Bayern tonight, famous last words with time left but perhaps I was overly dismissive of them.

I haven’t really seen Wilf do much, though we all know how quickly that can change. I desperately want to shout at the TV ‘give it to Zaha’ as I’m still cheering him and therefore them on.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Not looking so good now. Wilf off and 1-3 down.

I think the sequence in the 10 minutes following my statement praising Gala and questioning my own judgement of them Teddy went:

2-1 Bayern
Wilf off
3-1 Bayerb

Perhaps I should revert back to my juvenile hysterics and criticisms of Palace mid-game given the universe often likes to expose my idiocy further or contradict me whenever possible!

If it's any consolation I was thinking the same at the time.
