He may not have the funds to propel the club forward as quickly as some would like, but nobody should doubt that Parish is a shrewd character who will always seek to drive a hard bargain for Palace.
I seem to recall that he did a pretty clever deal on getting Selhurst Park and he took Pulis to the cleaners in court after Pulis tried it on with the club.
It’s evident that the club has said not one word on Olise, all the noises coming from Chelsea friendly media and possibly Olise’s camp.
I suspect the apparent collapse of the Hall deal is because he’s not prepared to roll over and be bullied by Chelsea .
We don’t know what the terms of the release clause are (if it exists) , but I’m pretty sure Chelsea will have to meet it in full , whether it’s full payment up front or with a sell on provision etc.
I recall Zaha trying to force moves to Spurs, Arsenal and Everton in his time but they never materialised as Parish held firm.
This is not to say Olise will not depart if there is a release clause , but there may be a few twists and turns yet.

It appears the only negotiating card Parish has, is not accepting anything less than payment in full straight away, not in
instalments over years.
This would make it easier to get other players in, offering other clubs cash up front.

If it's true that they're offering Hall for £30m could they be angling for some sort of part exchange deal for Olise?

It does look that way a little. Possibly not a bad idea from our perspective if this kid is as good as everyone thinks and it looked like he wanted to come here. Although they’re bound to try and shoehorn some s***ty buy back clause into the deal.

If Hall was a right back it would be tempting. Otherwise Hall plus 20 million and he’s yours Boehly. Take it or f**k off!

I wonder how the release clause would deal with a player swap plus cash - the other player's value would be a matter of opinion and Parish could argue that the offer is worth less than the required £35m. So Chelsea would have to offer at least £35m in cash.

You just get a feeling there is more to this than meets the eye otherwise this deal would have been done and dusted by now.

I'm hoping olise is remaining with us on loan, that's why we had to pull out of the hall loan, so Chelsea have stuck him on the transfer market instead, it's not ideal due to olise being injured but if we're going for the young winger from sporting who along with franca is also young and raw, it gives us this season to develop both.

I suspect it is something like this.

He would be a Chelsea player by now if they agreed to pay up in full. So either they want to stage the payments or there is some player swap / loan thing going on and they are arguing over the details.

I've got this similar feeling that it isn't as cut and dry as everyone thinks. All of this seems to have come from a single French journalist and the media has just carried it on.

That being said, I don't want to start thinking he might stay as, the second I do, he'll go.

Yes, and me, i wonder if Olise is thinking will i actually get a game, with another 15 days to go Chelsea could buy another 6 players.

If he's going , I wish he'd just go, take the money and move on, or is this media clickbait/Chelsea planning next seasons transfer window?
