When are people going to fealize that Olise is looking to ensure he reaches the top as quickly as possible and therefore insists on release clauses until he gets there?

Unfortunately this is the fact for us. We're a stepping stone. Ideally the fee would be £200m but they'll demand it's a realistic figure.
Nothing we can do about it. Player power is everything.

Fair enough but I’d like to see clubs like Palace being more creative and smarter with Release Clauses. If a player insists on one obviously the club should push for the highest figure possible and also include a provision for a bidding scenario if 2 or more clubs are interested. For example “a £40m release clause but if more than one club meets the fee a sale will be conducted to the highest bid exceeding the fee…”

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Some clickbait articles have said the clause for Olise is that over a certain figure the club is obliged to notify him of the interest but not obligated to sell.

If that is true I think it's a lousy clause for both player and club.

Player: "Come and have a look at what you could have won"

Club: Let's unsettle our player by telling him we've had a bid but we are not selling him.

If you are going to include a release clause then it should be clear, bid this much and the player can go if he wants to.

I was looking for the latest on Hall and it was all about Olise. Thought he had his own post. BTW, really hope we get this kid (Hall) for the season.

Afternoon all, here’s a short video detailing everything you need to know about teenage loanee Lewis Hall in 2 minutes for those interested. I’m amazed Chelsea aren’t giving him a crack at the first team (because truth be told, he’s miles ahead of Cucurella already) but their loss is Palace’ gain. As always, feel free to ask me any questions you may have, and enjoy what remains of your weekend!

Good idea.

As for Olise, I suspect he's exceeded expectations and let's face it, a release clause of more than 4 times what we paid probably looked a good idea at the time.

We need an additional left back this season. Hall is as good as we're going to get on a loan.

For the academy - a kick up the arse as to the standard you need to be at. That lauded U18s squad of a couple of years ago hasn't produced anything of note.

You only really get the value of a top academy if you've had it for all your time in the academy. Realistically, that's about the U13 group. City are only just starting to bring theirs through. It'll take a while.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

Excellent addition to our squad if only for a year. Can play in a few positions and hopefully give TM a kick up the backside as his form has slipped massively.

I'm not sure if his form was ever that consistent. He has certainly improved since breaking into the 1st team but cannot be relied upon game in game out. An alternative would be welcome.

TM has been hurt quite a bit the last season and even in pre-season. I think it has seriously affected his performance.

Either way, we need a backup. Clyne can fill in nicely, but isn't the solution for the season.
