My favourite aspects
- Lerma’s excellent debut
- Ayew’s dogged performance
- Roy tussling with a Sheffield United player young enough to be his grandson

A couple of points:
Those that have been banging on that we need a striker blah blah blah, we have 3 on the books. Today one crossed for the other to score.
With the step-over kid gone, we can now put balls into the box for the striker to do his job. It's a simple game sometimes made far to complicated.
A good result.

A very good perforance, the gap between SU and us is massive, back four excellent, Andersen looks my like Beckenbauer every game, full backs excellent, solid midfield, Eze pulling the strings, Ayew excellent, Schupp OK, probably Edouards best game, very promising, with Olise back or a Replacement of quality, Franca to come, and hopefully a CF to replace Mateta, IMHO things are looking good.

Agree with most of that. Re: Edouard apart from his goal(s) I thought he did very little. His ball retention is appalling. If he keeps on scoring who cares I guess

24 shots at goal
8 on target
1 goal.
Yep we’re getting there!

Should have won by more against a very poor side but we looked solid and organised as well as a real threat. Game management was well done too.

Ayew was MOTM for me. I thought he had a super game but nobody played badly. So much possession in an away game!

The real test comes next week. This was more about getting minutes into the legs hence, I suspect, the lack of substitutes.

Edouard took his goal well too, like a real striker should.

A win today and a loss next week is better than two opening draws such is the nature of three points even though we would have been happy with a draw draw start. Anything out the game next week will be a massive bonus. I am convinced that this season we need to maximise the points we get from the (on paper) weaker teams.

Re: Edouard apart from his goal(s) I thought he did very little.

This seems insane! Probably his best game in a Palace shirt. Just shows you, we not all watching the same game.

'- Really? Honestly? Back in the USSR,,,you don't know how lucky you are.

I think the bottom seven is already known, Sheff U, Burnley, Forest, Bournemouth, Luton, Everton and Wolves. our goal is to try and get above Brentford, Fulham, Brighton, Villa, West Ham and even Spurs

With the monkey off OE's back, he should be rather more confident than he was last season.

It's more than a given - it's odds on!

Good performance. Main takeaway is what we already know, we just need more up front. We'll be more dangerous when Olise and Franca are available but we still need another striker at a minimum, even though I didn't think Edouard was bad today.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I also thought Ayew had an excellent game. Apart from his traditional strengths, he was doing some skilful things I haven't seem from him before. Is he still one of the lowest paid members of the squad?
