As we’re seemingly reluctant to put funds towards transfer fees, I find it surprising that there aren’t more talk about signing free agents. Some players we’ve been linked to in previous windows are available and we tend to cycle back towards the same players during the transfer windows (Fedor Chalov and Khouma Babacar comes to mind).

We arguably need depth so surely some of these could be of interest to snap up. All of those mentioned below are under the age of 30 so it’s not unthinkable that we’d be able to offload them if they are mainly thought of as temporary replacements of those who left at the end of last season.
