Didn’t learn anything new from this game.
We will struggle to score more than one goal per game with the current lineup and have no imagination or creativity in our play in the final third other than through Eze.
Hopefully the return of the injured players and perhaps one or two additions will improve us in this regard.
We had to rely on Anderson to slide tackle in an equaliser today.
It wasn’t a bad performance but it’s evident to all where we lack.

Don't disagree but we were playing a very good, well drilled team, who finished above us, who were at home, who have beaten every other team and who really really really wanted to win.

However, Ward has been utterly brilliant in the past. He is unlikely to be mustard for a full 95 minutes. But his ability to read the game and to defend against the very best has already been proven.

Damien Delaney, Steven Gerrard & John Terry all performed at the highest level at age 35. Ward will be 34 at the end of October......so he still has the potential to serve us well this season. But then again, any player is only as good as his last game.

Francesco Totti played in the champions League , a month past his 40th birthday.

I think it is easier for a centre back to survive longer in the game than a full back if speed is the issue. Full backs often find themselves defending against pacy forwards/wingers and as such can find themselves exposed if their pace has declined.

Prior to the commencement of the game, privately I expressed the view that I would be content with a point.
We have now drawn our last 5 encounters against Brentford.

Agree with you. I think Wolves at home will be a better test to see where we are cos as Everton showed yesterday that they do give away space for teams to get behind their defence.

Wolves, away from home this season, have only conceded a solitary goal in 2 matches and that was in the defeat at Man Utd in their opening game.

Not agree, Edouard looks like a decent striker and Ayew is creating as much as Eze if not more, both sides were strong in defence yesterday both sides will finish in the top ten.

Wolves have looked rather fortunate to me.

They certainly weren't at Old Trafford. Outplayed Utd and then denied a clear penalty.

They were on the other end of that yesterday, Everton dominated but couldn't finish and Wolves nicked it at the end.

I think Wolves give the opposition space to play in and hopefully we can benefit from that next Sunday

Only slightly relevant to yesterday's match, but I was scrolling through the records to find out when we last won a league game at Brentford, and it was on Christmas Day 1957.

I scrolled a bit further. On Christmas Day 1930, we lost 8-2 at Brentford. The following day, we beat Brentford 5-1 at home!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I’ve got an ‘only slightly relevant’ thing as well, brentford away in a league cup tie was the first game palace played after I was born

I was going on the chances and space that they have given away in their last 2 games rather than their goals against column. Sa playing a blinder yesterday has helped them in that particulas stat.

Ayew warrants a place in the team, but not for his creative abilities.
You must be watching different games to me if you think Ayew offers more creatively than Eze.
Perhaps City will come in and offer £70 million for Eze instead.
With regard to Edouard I will be amazed if he's first choice come November.
Assuming Olise comes back, Franca being as good as reputed to be and a new forward coming in then Edouard will be confined to the bench.
We're all Palace fans and don't want to be too critical of our players, but we can't let this blind us to the reality when players are not the answer.
Edouard looked at his best for us in his early games when I was hopeful he would the striker we needed.
That seems a long time ago now.
