scratching a blackboard, fire alarms, breaking wind, clearing your throat with your mouth shut, car horns, knife scraping crockery ... mine is two year olds crying in supermarkets when they're not upset it's just a loud moan. Have you a noise which gives you the red mist or the eebie jeebies?

Next door's lawnmower. Too small for the garden and drones on for ages.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Improvisational jazz with several instruments blaring random notes at different tempos and honking on for hours at a time.

From car unlocking, lorries reversing, supermarket scanners to fire alarms and emergency vehicles two-tones.

If you wear hearing aids, you'll understand.

I have a bit of an aversion to whistling. I'm fine with birds singing, steam engines and even actual whistles being blown, but the sound of people whistling often gives me those 'eebie geebies'. I haven't always been like that, but over the past 10-15 years it's become one of those things that really gets on my nerves.
