Surely Val Doonican was the master of jumpers.

He was very popular in his day, but I can't remember even one of his songs.

Talking of Roger Whittaker, RIP, he was a renowned whistler and you don't hear much, if any, whistling these days. At one time the milkman, postie and blokes walking in the street whistled. A dying art.

 


Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
