And I am not too sure Hamas can simply hand back the hostages. I don't think they have control over all of them. We are not sure how many have been killed by their captors or Israeli air strikes. All they can do is offer up who they actually hold as a gesture of good faith which - while Palestinians currently the moral cards - will pile unimaginable pressure on Israel.

I agree...personally I think their hostages were smuggled into Egypt. If you put yourself in their shoes that's what you'd do...and there are certainly people happy to help over there. Either that or they have tunnels too deep, large, hidden and well stocked for them to worry about....I go with the former. Netanyahu has wanted this situation for decades. I don't see him missing his chance of clearing out Gaza by hook or by crook....Israel will pay a heavy price for it but I think they will do it regardless. I'll never have a side in this conflict.....I'm done with having sides in foreign conflicts. This guy wants to send all the Gazans to Europe. This country is run by elites and the middle class in institutions who put foreigners first. [Tweet Link]

That way they have a starting point if somebody eventually doesn’t get released alive. I assume that hasn’t been agreed hence the continuing conflict.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
