Now an estimated 10,000 civilian dead in Palestine, 4000+ of those children.

Our Government and the opposition remain complicit.

But you know... protestors.

I nearly fell over when I saw this.

Last week he was ranting about bombing Iran, now he wants to attach conditions to funding Israel.

That's flipping around like a Mexican bean.

Internal polling telling them something? God knows....amazed me though.

Yes, protestors...so what would stop the marches and the protests? What does the UK government need to do; we are not occupying either Gaza or Israel, we are not attacking either side. So what does the UK government need to do to pacify the protestors? This is a serious question as I don't know what is required of us.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

Condemn the atrocities, support a ceasefire, stop arms sales and exert diplomatic pressure on Israel, as we would any other state who had murdered 4000 children in little over a month.

I get the upset but Israel doesn't care what we think. It only cares what the US thinks.

Why have we sent ships? Largely pointless and just looking for brownie points with the US as usual.

How about we just stay out of it.....Why can't we be like India or any number of states around the globe and just stay out of wars that don't concern us.

Trouble is Stirling, we are now multicultural and so the problems from around the globe stir feelings here with the people from those regions. We therefore have to be seen to be doing something to pacify whatever pressure groups reside amongst us. But I agree; keep out. Same as George Floyd; not British, not killed on British soil, not killed by a British citizen.

I'd rather we stay out of than act as a mouthpiece for the IDF's propaganda, absolutely.

In reality, I think the ship has already sailed on staying out of it - our politicians have very publicly taken a position and the consequences of that are already in motion.

This protest on Saturday is a matchbox waiting to go up.

So, do you seriously think that protests would stop if those actions were taken by the UK government? I don't; the protests would just demand something else - reparations, refugees welcome here, two state solution (or is it one state that doesn't involve Israel). You get the idea...

True.

I say until the English/British are filtered out of their own nation we should still represent the interests of this island and not the interests of peoples and their descendants who were allowed to come here but yet who predictably have dual loyalties.....a lot of them having very little in the way of actual loyalty to this one.

Then again I think they are probably preferable and have more loyalty than the self hating Guardian types.

Yep, I think you're right.

Saturday could be a very unfortunate day all round.

I'd recommend people to stay out of it.

Yes, obviously - generally when the aims of a protest are met, people stop protesting.

76% of the population support a ceasefire - this is not some minority fringe movement.

Quite literally the only similarity it has with George Floyd is that it's an international event - the British state had absolutely nothing to do with it, hadn't come out in support of the cops, and the cops weren't responsible for ten thousand civilian deaths.
