Pretty much agree with all you say Nicholas - we had a couple of chances in the first half and they didn't, but somehow the chances felt like luck rather than skill (though stopping them was a combination of tactical masterclass and fantastic effort). I also believe Roy's tactic against better teams (maybe not surprising without Eze and Olise) is to stay in the game at 0-0, and maybe, just maybe, we nick a goal. A lot of emotional comments, understandable I guess. But let's face it, it's Groundhog Day again isn't it? With a couple of key creative players injured, the lack of quality and nous in the art of controlling the game in those areas necessary to score a goal becomes blatantly apparent. It's been mentioned that Ward needs to be replaced, but the plate spinning circus act of player acquisition has somehow meant that he's still here, perhaps he has some super power we don't know a about - a bit of a mystery because he's become a bit of a liability. Alas Mateta and Edouard would have fallen at the first hurdle if assessed by Brighton's scouting algorithm, I concede that finding a decent striker on the cheap is a very difficult thing. Regarding Roy Hodgson, he is what he is, and at the beginning of the season I thought it likely that we would finish between 12th and 14th again. I did ask myself who comes in after him? A lot of emotional comments, understandable I guess. But let's face it, it's Groundhog Day again isn't it? With a couple of key creative players injured, the lack of quality and nous in the art of controlling the game in those areas necessary to score a goal becomes blatantly apparent.

I feel like quite the contrarian. 1) Without Ebz and Olise, we earned 11 corners to 2 for Spurs. 2) We allowed the team at the top of the table, only 1 shot on target, while outshooting them 13 to 10. 3) We gave a handful of young, unproven attackers plenty of valuable, high-pressure minutes. 4) If you see Roy's comments about the young players IN CONTEXT, it doesn't sound hyper-critical. Overall, he sounded supportive and sympathetic to their situation. If Roy is feeling peeved, it's because (like us fans) he wishes the club had shored up its defensive ranks this summer, and perhaps found some experienced depth in attack. Mostly, though, he's been dealt a harsh hand, missing our two most skilled players for a substantial part of the season to date.

I feel like quite the contrarian.

1) Without Ebz and Olise, we earned 11 corners to 2 for Spurs.
2) We allowed the team at the top of the table, only 1 shot on target, while outshooting them 13 to 10.
3) We gave a handful of young, unproven attackers plenty of valuable, high-pressure minutes.
4) If you see Roy's comments about the young players IN CONTEXT, it doesn't sound hyper-critical. Overall, he sounded supportive and sympathetic to their situation.

If Roy is feeling peeved, it's because (like us fans) he wishes the club had shored up its defensive ranks this summer, and perhaps found some experienced depth in attack. Mostly, though, he's been dealt a harsh hand, missing our two most skilled players for a substantial part of the season to date.

At 0-0 we made Spurs look bang average and it took another Wardy mishap to put them in front. I thought Wardy looked like a Championship player last year and he’s getting worse.

Ultimately Roy has given himself a green pass to continue to pick the same starting 11 each week (unless Olise or Eze suddenly become available) his argument will be that he gave the bench warmers a chance last night and they were basically rubbish. Absolute crazy statement for him to make. I was never a supporter of him being re appointed the end of last season even though we had a good run against lesser opposition, and giving him another year extension was crazy. To set up for a Palace nil at home whether its against Spurs or Fulham or Forest lacks any ambition and flies against what Parish said pre match about Palace being an exciting place to be .At the moment its get 10 men behind the ball at all costs .It really is time for change and to give it a go and find a manager who is willing to do it

We played well for a large proportion of the game and troubled their goal more than they did ours until they scored which then allowed them to take control. But there was little or no quality or cutting edge at the end of our attacks.

When we pressed (as we were encouraged to by the crowd) they picked us off and scored the second goal.

If we go toe to toe with the current line up against anyone half decent it will be really ugly.

Rak-Sakyi had a limited impact, in part, because whenever he got the ball in a promising position he was fouled (even though the ref didn’t give most of them). This season reality is starting to bite, as Roy sticks to his tried and tested formula of negation first. it's all very predictable and I suppose one could make a thousand and one reasons either way, for or against, but anyone who expected some sort of renaissance under Roy I'm afraid to say you have deluded yourself. I was actually in favour of Roy taking charge for another season, mainly because I'm a realist and there was no one else in the short space of time to appoint. Roy offered a safe short term solution and the likelihood of another season in the PL. Looking forward is another matter.

Let’s not forget that Viera did not use Eze properly. Roy did. Other than that not much. Roy no good in the transfer market. Viera brought good young players in. Was pleased when Roy left first time around, needs to retire.

Now Roy is back it has gone right out of the window , and it has had a negative impact on the atmosphere in the stadium especially for the last three games , that is because the fans are getting nothing to get excited about, last night fans were booing spurs for playing back to and fro to the keeper when they were 2 0 up, they were doing nothing wrong it was down to us to go get the ball but the players were to frightened to break their lines and the front three kept looking at the bench to see what to do .The shackles need to come off

Then we brought in PV and we had a new refreshing brand of football where we showed some ambition regardless of who was available . Why he'd have a pop at them rather than our captain, who scored a dreadful own goal to put us behind and then was at 6s and 7s for the second goal, down his side, is beyond me.
