I think Roy could have worded it slightly better so not to directly implicate the subs.

However, at present we can't expect much from them.

JRS - should go.out on loan in Jan. The step from Div 1 to PL is too much.

Ahamada - I thought he might be a surprise bonus this season but the injury has probably put him back.

Franca - he is going to need time to adjust. A different country, language and league. Plus he has only come back from injury.

Unfortunately more is expected of them because we wasted money on an injury keeper and dodgy centre back, as well as lack of loans.

The one thing Hodgson definitely is, is intelligent , which would indicate he doesn’t get bitten twice without a reaction. He has made it very clear on a number of occasions what he needed, what he wanted, because of that it’s hardly likely he wasn’t given to believe he would get what he wanted, needed. There is a thread elsewhere bemoaning the lack of the very numbers Hodgson said he wanted , once again ,more than once, and totally in line with the obvious.
Yes he knows this season is it for him, so break the habit of a lifetime not much to lose, go public just enough to let it be known thie situation he in is not his idea. We have to disagree.on what he already knew , you could say he should have known that’s all . Most people work on trust Hodgson , probably does.

Roy's tenure first time round, finishes of 11th, 12th, 14th , 14th. Diminishing returns for a thin, ageing squad. Signings and finances out Roy's hands, then as now. Roy did what he had to do, and it wasn't pretty.
Wouldn't it be something if Parish pulled Roy in for a friendly chat, speaking to him in the manner Roy spoke of the youngsters:
"Well Roy, I gave you another year, you've inherited Patrick's side minus Wilf, it's a decent side albeit at the moment a bit thin due to injuries, but what are you doing with it Roy? Nothing Roy. 0-0 at home to Forest and Fulham Roy, it's not good enough."

Then they've reached that impasse. Parish will ask Hodgson to think about it over the weekend, and offer his resignation in writing if he still feels the same way. Roy is the employee, Parish would be right to ask Roy why the brinkmanship? i have no doubts about Parish sacking Roy if it came to it, he's proved he can be ruthless if need be, and if it were to happen Paddy would become interim manager with Ray departing.

Lopetegui takes over, hopefully before Gareth fails to win the Euros due to his appalling negative tactics. Lopetegui recognises that Joel Ward is past his sell by date, and we recruit a half decent full back. We sell Edouard and Mateta and use the money to buy 1 better striker who actually scores goals, presses and puts in a shift. Simples...

That’s more like it. And then what indeed? Who is this top man that would want to take on this league with a squad as thin as Hodgson,s?

I would normally stand up for Roy but those comments were out of order. They are not comments that should have been aired publicly, and the management and development of these younger players has to be a large part of any Palace managers remit. This season is a free hit given the dross that came up from the championship. So if the right candidate can be identified I would make the change. I don’t buy that we are an unattractive proposition for a prospective manager. Our first team when all fit is a match for most teams in the league.

Much more likely is. Roy mate I know you said you have had enough, but look Pats f—-ed up ain’t won a game for weeks, they ain’t a bad bunch ,please.
End of season fantastic job Roy , you could get us in the top ten with this lot, I’m sure Wilf will stay , and we will replace Macca, and the Serb, Lerma is decent ,and that counts the loaner out might even get you a little bit more really keen on this Brazilian kid, he is mustard, we can do it Roy mate. The young lads love you, Eze thinks the sun shine out of your A—e. We need you Roy.
Parish, gave Hodgson nothing, that wasn’t going down hill , and then failed to even keep that squad up to the previous seasons levels, injury to Eze, and Olize, and three or four others produced the 0-0s you moan about. Fulham and Forest were at virtual full strength , we could barely put a viable side out. No wonder Hodgson is pissed off, and Parish is going to think long and hard before he moves Hodgson on. Because he is out of viable options.

Aww boo hoo, poor Croydon Roy, naïve enough not to have thought through the variables that have made this scenario possible, and took on the job anyhow. All that glitters is not gold.
He's upset, and has used the youngsters to express his frustration at Parish. This is what you're saying? And he's right to call them out because they've got to man up, yeah?
I'd say to Roy, get on with it, these things happen and it's your role to do your best and get the best out of the players at your disposal. Three winnable games coming up in succession, go and win them.

The notion that JRS and Franca should start is unrealistic currently. It doesn’t matter what support they have behind them, the problem is the experienced pro in front of them of the opposition. They aren’t ready for the first team yet, Roy knows that and appears to be giving them some game time at the end of games.
Premier football is tough, they have done well to get this far, as many talented young players fall by the wayside. They have to prove they are good enough and not just their egos massaged.

The big conundrum. They are not good enough as they lack experience and they can’t gain experience because we can’t risk playing them. In my opinion this is why you should only introduce one youngster at a time. Putting all three on was asking for trouble, but as others have mentioned, perhaps that’s Roy saying that these are his only alternatives for fresh legs.

For this reason I would have started with either JRS or Franca and if they were struggling, take them off.

This becomes moot shortly as hopefully Eze and Olise will be back but it does beg the question then where the youngsters will gain their experience. Personally I think JRS should be on loan as should Ebiowei.

In most respects that is what I have said. It’s not a tear jerker, but an appreciation of what’s actually happening . You don’t have to like it, or respond to it.
We know what you would say to Roy, you publicise your attitude to him constantly..
Your reasoning is rarely better than just a personal dislike , for him.
You might give him your orders to win the next three games, no matter how depleted his squad is. Because you don’t respect him. No other reason. That’s by the by , what’s relevant is you wouldn’t know what to do if he lost those games, that could possibly mend the situation. That’s if you had to, which you don’t, some sort of safety net wouldn’t you say.
