There are reports this morning that Jim Ratcliffe has identified Freedman as the person he wants at Manchester United to shake up their recruitment policy.
I have no idea how true this is, and doubt Freedman would have the level of control and influence at United as he has at Palace.
However, if the story is true he may be tempted by the financial package on offer and I aIso think he still has a family house in the area.
I believe Parish leans heavily on Freedman on the football side of the administration of the club so it would clearly leave a void if he was to join United.

If he goes perhaps Roy would take the job?

This would be a no brainer for Dougie surely? If true, it could set our recruitment back big time. Hope Stevie boy has a contingency

Of course he has, out on road trips with Roy to watch conference league games just like the good old days of Noades and Sir Steve.

If there is any truth in this then it proves Ratclffe know sweet F.A. about football and if he does employ Freedman I will chuck in a tube of Smarties (trade mark) to sweeten the deal.

Go and pinch a couple of the techno boys from Brighton or Brentford. Or start developing our own.

If I was offered more money to go to a big company near my home. I would absolutely do a "runner".

The way the club is structured all football matters report through to Freedman.
He's not responsible for the first team or control of the purse strings, but he does have reponsibilty for scouting, recruitment and the youth and reserve set ups.
He's worked hand in hand with the likes of Issott, Powell and McCarthy for a while.
He was instrumental in building the promotion team (think Bolassie, Murray, Jedinak, Delaney,KG,Ward) and has been key to bringing in Guehi, Anderson, Eze and Olise in the current setup.
I wouldn't underestimate his role and the void he would leave should he depart.
Ashworth performed a similar role at Brighton and they have managed to continue seamlessly despite his departure for Newcastle.
However, I'm less confident that we would be able to emulate this as we don't have a great record on succession planning.

I think you'll find that we already have such a team working for Freedman, and yes - they have the technology - it's not all done on the back of a fag packet.

I'm not really seeing the problem. Good luck.

Until Parish and or Freedman retire and speak out I think it is very difficult to judge Freedman's job performance.

People will point to the weaknesses in our team but we don't know whose fault that is. Dougie maybe be blind to it on the other hand he may have recommended players to the board who decided not to buy due to the budget.

If he goes to Manure it is a different level entirely and it remains to be seen if he can perform at that level. It's a bit like telling a 2nd hand car salesman tomorrow you will be selling Ferrari's and Porches and Rolls Royce's.
