I understand Red Bull made enquiries a few years ago. The sticking point was the kit colours as most RB teams play with white tops and red shorts/ socks. New York RB however play in red and black. Otherwise their philosophy of promoting academy players really works well and their ex managers seem to continue in that vein at new clubs.
