On paper he’s a shoe in but with Wharton, Doucoure, Lerma, and Ozoh we have 4 defensive/holding midfielders worthy of a place in a PL team. OG has the luxury of rotating them so they are fresh and hopefully less injury prone. Given he is big on tactics , analysing the opposition and choosing the best team he may well decide they all have different strengths and pick the most appropriate pairing depending on the game. Centre back pairings are best kept consistent but midfield can be changed more readily

I agree with this 100%. Horses for courses and all that.

I hope he doesn't get into any training ground spats.

Well, if he plays today let's hope he gives it some wellie.

He'll need some help in midfield, mind. He can't be the sole midfielder can he.

I’m seeing Peter Nicholas, one of my all time faves, but much better when receiving the ball and having the ability to see and deliver a really cutting pass. If there are no serious injuries and no attitude problems this lad is going to be some player!!!

-I see his spindly legs and firm tackles as Nobby Styles.

Already he’s looking comfortable at this level. Sterner tests to come, of course. He’s the central midfield playmaker we’ve been missing since Cabaye. Impressive work from the club to get him if you ask me.

Spot on, mate. He's the real deal this one. Yes, hats off to Dougie not only for getting him but at that price.

Sensible taking him off though, he was close to getting a second booking and being sent off

Quite amusing the Burnley fans giving him stick when he was in that corner as he totally ignored them, two f***s were not given, he was as cool as a cucumber

He's nailed on this season due to Doucoure injury.

By the time Doucoure is back, I'm sure he'll have grown stronger still and be the first name on the team sheet.

Our motm V Chelsea and Everton by a country mile, and a contender yesterday.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Seems to have half a second on the ball more than the opponents. A bit like when eze is fully fit and on it.
