I am very pleased to see JW back in the team. However, in terms of key players we need to keep, he is 34, MG is 23.

MG will probably be sold in the summer - while worth top dollar.
JW can fit in anywhere in defence and at least worth another season

It is also important to sell at the right time as well as buy at the right time, and it is the right time to sell Olise and Guehi, but not Doucoure, Eze or Andersen

I have been wondering how Olise will fit into the new wingback formation which really doesn’t require traditional wingers. Olise is not a wingback. He can play centrally as the playmaker but it’s getting crowded there.

Maybe he will rotate with Ayew who for me on current form is undroppable.

Franca I see starting on the left and rotating with Eze when fit, who will also rotate with Wharton.

Nice problems to have.

Personally think we need a LWB upgrade. Mitchell is solid enough defensively...but not sure he's top half prem material.

I'm inclined to give him time. He looks very much a Roy Hodgson LB at the moment however once he is coached out of that and into Glasner's system we should know whether he'll cut the that particular mustard or not... I say that like I have any control over our transfers or team selections

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Me too.
He was a traditional LB in the U23s (as they were then) and became a solid defensive LB in Hodgson's and then Vieira's teams. He had a few games were he linked up well with and has provided a few good assists with crosses and a couple of goals. He doesn't appear to be a natural LWB but I'd like to see what progress (if any) he makes during the remainder of the season.

Adamarola is a more natural looking LWB and it will be interesting to see next pre-season what progress (if any) he has made in Belgium (unless, like O'Brien, he's sold to another Textor team for peanuts).
