He's brought in TWO as I understand it (might that be one for attack and one for defence?)

Probably a set piece taker coach and a tactical set piece coach but it could be anything really. There may even be a throw-in coach - and we could do with that too.

I think the issue with Edouard is his play rather than his goals. He can definitely score, and I believe with minutes his all round game can significantly improve. Especially in a side that attacks.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

I predict that under OG we will score more goals and create more chances. Assuming this happens then I think we can assess Eddie more fairly. Until now our strikers live on scraps.

That in a nutshell.
All strikers we've had since Murray have struggled because we haven't had a creative midfield.

Accept that Mateta has improved from a low base. His energy makes Edouard look sluggish.

Trouble is he needs coaching in heading. Benteke at least contributed some good defensive headers even if his scoring record collapsed when we had no Cabaye or any creative midfield.

Hopefully the advent of Wharton will correct this and with a raiding Munoz, ala Van Arnhoult, he and Edouard will get better crosses. But they both need to improve in the air. Of the two I think Edouard is technically the better player.

To try and be fair the position of striker is one of the most difficult to recruit and in my 50 plus years of supporting Palace we’ve had our share of duds.
Langley, Aylott, McCullough, Mahoney, Possee, Easter etc. spring to mind.
We even experimented with a centre half, Coleman, as a striker.
The good ones you could count on one hand - Bright, Wright, Johnson and Murray.
Others have had limited success -Queen, Swindlehurst, Walsh, Bourne and Shipperly.

So on to Edouard.
To my mind he’s not the answer to our striking needs.
There have been spells where he has scored a few goals in batches and some extrapolate this to suggest that he’s a 15 goal a season striker.
Problem is , it never happens and is unlikely to.
How many on here would offer him a new 3 year contract?
In all his time here I don’t think I’ve ever seen him outjump , outmuscle or outrun a defender.
His control of the ball is decent (if not under pressure) and on occasions he’s a calm finisher but this almost feels like damning him with faint praise because of the other shortcomings in his game.

I’ve more or less given up on the idea of a 15-20 goal a season striker for us, at least in the Premier League, and would like us to to have a range of options to score from, e.g from midfield, the flanks, corners and set pieces.
It’s evident that for all their flamboyant play, Arsenal score a lot of goals from corners.

Missed out freedman, morrison and Armstrong

Fair comment, at least in relation to Armstrong.

What is Eze then, Left Back

If the run is made Eze will find it, but Edouard is suffering from
Bentekeitis, a illness sadly there is no cure for, Symptom's include, Rigidness, facial nonunderstanding and lack of awareness

Not to mention Johnny Byrne.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Now he was just before my time, and I only saw him once in a testimonial/friendly.
He was heavily overweight but still had impeccable touch and control of the ball.

Overweight and lazy. Bad attitude. Bye bye in the summer.

I agree he looks lazy and with a bad attitude, but I know a personal trainer (owns a boxing gym in Beckenham) who was training him , after Palace training last season, to improve his fitness.
That doesn’t sound like someone with a bad attitude, maybe says a bit about the lack of fitness he was getting in training ?
Think Glasner needs to up all of their fitness/endurance, hopefully stop all the late goals.
