How the f*** can people say it would do the club good! Yea ok i want to see us up there with the likes of Arsenal, Man u and Cheslea, but i would rather we earnt it!
The profile of the club will NOT improve.
Foreign millionaires and billionaires are ruining the beautifull game in england for us fans, teams buying success i.e Chelsea, and not earning the success like Arsenal have or Man u have.

But then you have to relise that He has done alot to get back into peoples good books.

i am very confused as to how i would feek if palace were to be brought by this man.
I dont want palace to become rich over night and trying to buy world class players, i like supporting a team that has a fair share of bad times as well as good times.

I agree with the part about not wanting to get rich over night. At the momonet Crystal Palace is a club. a good club. At the moment we have a chairman that actually cares about what happens on the field. I can guarantee you if we gadaffi buyed us then he would not give 2 f*cks what happens on the field. We would then not be a club. We would be a business. Passion would be taken out because of all the exciting times we have had. Please don't let this happen.......please

What am I - your personal researcher?

For your info, Lybia IS a dictatorship. They do not have free elections (they don't have any elections at all!) and they have no constitution - instead their laws are based on a strange mixture of Islamic law and Gadaffi's own political philosophy. Control is maintain by the military and they have a terrible human rights record.

Lybia HAS accepted responsibility for the Lockerbie bombing. If you do a little research of your own you will quickly realise that Gadaffi rules with an iron fist and that the state sponsored terrorism must have had his blessing. That makes him a murderer in my book.

I would not want any kind of association with such a man and neither should CPFC. What next? Are we going to be considering bids from a consortium of millionnaire paedophiles? Will you still be chanting "Who cares as long as we have success on the pitch"? s***, you could show your loyalty to the club by letting your daughter be team mascot.

I'm ashamed reading some of the comments here.

Gadaffi has blood on his hands. He is a terrorist and a murderer and whilst world leaders may have to deal with him in the interests of future world peace, we do not.

If your mother, father, son or daughter was one of those killed in Lockerbie how would you feel when your countrymen turn around and say they are willing to forgive the man behind it if it means their football team becomes big and successful? Get a life people. Your shallowness and ignorance is embarrassing.

One of the first jobs for the Colonel would be
to call for a holy jihad on all Brighton fans
and then get sponsorship from semtex

For me, this really is a no-brainer.

Gadaffi was the living embodiment of state-sponsored terrorism in the 1980s and, as peterg has pointed out, although there may be some dispute about Libya's direct involvement in the Lockerbie bombing, his support of other terrorist organisations such as the IRA is beyond doubt. His friendship and support for Robert Mugabe (which he still maintains, incidentally) must also bring his 'friend of the West' credentials into question.

The only reason why he has modified his position vis-a-vis the West is that he had the sense to realise that, under the Bush-Blair axis (an alliance that can and will invade countries, legally or otherwise, in order to force a regime change), that he would have almost certainly been high on the list that was headed by Saddam Hussein.

There are times in life where it is necessary to make a moral stand and mine is that I will completely withdraw my support for the club if he, or anyone associated with him, were to buy it. Some things are more important than football (very few, admittedly) but I could not live with my conscience if I lent my support to a club that was funded with blood money. Anyone who accuses me, or anyone else who takes a similar position, of not being a true Palace fan is completely mising the point.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

We cant't let him buy us!!! he probably knows FU*K all about football, is probably just looking for an investment to try and make money and will just end up leaving within a year with us millions of pound in debt and no longer in the Premiership! He can barely keep control of his countries finances, let alone a big british football clubs

I still wouldn't withdraw my support for the club WHOEVER took us over.

It may appear to the world that Gadaafi is a "good guy" because he has been praised by other world leaders, but can you imagine the consequences of them slagging him off? I dread to think, especially after Lockerbie.

On the subject of Lockerbie, the following article demonstrates his motives for paying compensation, it is not his heartfelt apology, it is both a statement of guilt and a method of blackmailing both the UK and the US.....the final 3 paragraphs are particularly revealing.....

[Link]

If anyone doubts what Libya (under the control of Gadaafi) did, the following link is proof enough.

[Link]

I believe that we shouldnt even consider what money/success he could bring to the club, we should not be looking beyond his terrorist past.
