I am still mostly certain this is a joke that has snowballed somewhat.

If I was to assume it might happen, which actually nearly melts my brain it's so bizarre, then I think irrespective of the fact it would save the club, I would have serious reservations about our identity.

I would love it if it stopped at galvanizing the local community, clearing our debts and making us competitive, but you have to worry about the club being at the behest of a millionaire playboy with a big ego (erm, I mean another one) .

That said, he is a very astute businessman and there is no telling what the approach might be. As with most things, it is probably easier to judge people's intentions by their actions.

Modern football is already sickening in many ways and whatever happens, no-one can tell me that the way things are at Palace now is any better - the stadium is less than half full and a growing percentage are utter morons.

Change isn't necessarily for the better, but saving going out of business totally, things would struggle to get any worse.

Now coming back to reality - this story is mental.

fair point Hambo, but look at Fulham under Al Fayed - someone on paper you would instinctively say no way. But he is a good businessman and his team have grown to the point where they're now in the 1/4 finals of the europa league.

At the very least, if he's interested then we should listen to what he has to say.

Guilfoyle and P Daddy - unreal!

Very good point, Al-Fayed has been fantastic for Fulham against most people's initial opinion - It emphasises that judging someone by their actions rather than preconceptions is the way forward. I would still be apprehensive if this ridiculous story ended up being true, but I would be more than happy to give any owner the chance to prove that they are there for the benefit of the club.

I'd love this to be true but the difference between the two is that Al-Fayed was chasing a British passport. He had a reason to take an interest over here.

I know you are but what am I?

Agree with nearly all your post, and don't want to go off topic but..... 'RN allowing Liverpool into Europe'?????

Do you think he stood a chance in hell in over turning that ruling? If you do then you want to point the blame at us Palace fans around then too, because we hardly did anything either in terms of protesting - why? Because it was pointless: we knew no one would listen!

It was our right though

And I choose to be bitter about it

I'm still bitter too mate.

It is also in the news in Germany. The first time I have heard Palace mentioned here.

You lot make me laugh on here, someone "might be" interested in buying OUR club but because he is an American rapper/buisnessman you all start slagging everyone off who seems excited by the idea, who the f**k do you want to buy us?Mr R Noades(whose mum is a whore),i dont want to be another Arsenal or Chelsea, what do you want then?

This post I have to agree with.
We slip into administration and everyone (understandably) says we just need someone, ANYONE, to come in and save us. Then names start being mentioned and suddenly no one is good enough for our ailing club thats going down the tubes both financially and in interest on match days from our own fans!
Oh we cant have Noades because he's only out for himself (which I agree with but would take him back tomorrow if there were no other option), We cant have a foriegner because they dont have the feeling for the club that we (non attending) fans have. We cant have Cellino because he was accused of something two hundred years ago (and never served any time for it) but there's no smoke without fire. We cant have a Palace fan because look what happened when Goldberg and Jordan got their hands on the club.
And now its "we cant have P Diddy because our identity might be compromised!"
FFS this is probably a load of crap anyway but if by some tiny slim chance it may have a glimmer of truth to it why dont we wait to see what the guy's plans for the club would be and how he'd intend to run it before we start critising.
As said by many, WE ARE IN NO POSITION TO BE PICKY!

Spot on! - Cant agree more! I along with everybody else on here want Palace to survive. I cant think of anything worse than my club that i love not existing! - Bad results/relegation/bad cup runs - all things we can live with and moan about but to simply not be is not an option.
I agree that if he did take over it is purely a PR exercise of some sort - he does not care for our club in any way. That being said - he is worth millions - and if he is the ONLY one that puts an offer on the table to save our club from going the chester fc way then i for one say welcome!
It might go pear-shaped in 2 or three years time - but we may have no debt and at least be financially stable - in which case surley it was worth it!
Nice to be in the press for some good reasons for a change though!

Yep...lets face it there is only one club a world famous American rapper is ever going to buy and it would be us...the rollercoaster and bizarre world that is CPFC

I would also willingly fly to New York to meet P Diddy. Let's face it, who wouldn't? I could do with a holiday, too.

It's a brilliant story, but if P Diddy buys Palace I will (willingly) stand on the bar at the Whitehorse and shave my arse.

Bring him on, I say, but only in a too-surreal-for-words way.
