Bloody well right today we take on the pool if we loose the moaners will be banging on again on doubt.

I remember when Roy came in we lost Benteke to injury which left us without a centre forward of even Championship level. He masterminded a win against Chelsea with Townsend and Zaha as inside forwards which turned things around. When this got sussed by our opponents and Benteke was fit he changed back. When Benteke couldn't score he adapted the team again and so it goes on.

Things reached a real low for me on this board when we beat United away to give us six points after two games but some wanted to make excuses for our opponents and bitch about the end of last season.

If you are going to bang on about other posters, at least give them the courtesy of a coherent rollicking beforehand. It’s ‘lose’ and it’s ‘no’ doubt.

The Roy Out thread has been a bit quiet lately. Does this mean the Roy Out folks are changing their tune?

People have always said on here that he only knows one way of playing and that is ultra defensive and hasn’t a clue how to attack but this season we have seen lots of attacking and some lovely football.

Was the problem all along the players at his disposal? Are we now beginning to see what he can do with the right players?

More to do with scoring opportunities instead of missing them and the confidence this brings to everyone in my book, nothing to do with our manager being negative ..he has always been pragmatic and the more we keep not scoring the more pragmatic he appears to the detriment of excitement, goals = joy no goals = misery.
Eze has helped enormously.

Hear hear! Roy has adapted to many different scenarios that's been thrown at him. We had RLC, Cabaye we played the best football I've seen at Palace. We had 6-7 injuries to the first team (can't remember specific number) one season and he adapted a more conservative approach - Klopp can't stop going on about his injuries and he's got a wealth of options. The same with last season, no number 10, no striker but Ayew managed to step up with important goals. Now this season, our first choice CBs are all out and have been since the start of the season and we're still getting results.

Whilst we've added one meaningful player to some (I believe two, Clyne is a lot safer than Ward). That player is the one we've been asking for, a number 10 type player who plays inbetween the lines, its the difference maker and we are seeing how Roy is using him to effect this season. Freeing up Wilf a lot more as well. It is just one player but what a massive difference it makes.

There are ways to lose a match if one has a competent manager. Hodgeson is simply not it. Expect results that are all over the place from this man who life has given so many chances despite his incompetence. I was done with him a long time ago despite the "recognition" the media and some here give him. Folks we are not that far from relegation with this guy.

Who's he? If you mean our manager at least get his name right.

Did Manure sack Ole after their drubbing by Spurs (1-6) or Southampton Hasenhuttl after their drubbing by Leicester last season (0-9).

These games happen sometimes. The wise thing is to put them behind you, pull your socks up and get on with the next game.

We were good against WBA, Spurs and WH and we are not suddenly a poor team because of today nor is Roy a bad manager (ask Fulham, WBA, Inter MIlan, Switzerland etc).

In saying this I'm not saying I'm a Hodgson fan but until we have a genuine quality replacement lined up I don't see a reason to get rid of him.

You always confirm, that Yanks have very little understanding of football.
Our incompetent manager hasn't seen us in the relegation zone since Feb 2018, that was when he was recovering from the shambles left by De Boer. He has kept us hovering around mid table since then, despite lack of investment and injury crisis's along the way.
He gets recognition from the media, as they understand his achievements a bit more, than you seem too.

Thanks for the name correction Sir. We are not all English. Many of us Palace fans. If 7-0 loss and many otherwise winnable games on which we lost points is OK with you, then our ambitions/horizons for this club are different. We have more than enough talent in the squad to not have to go through these nerve wrecking and humiliating displays. How do other teams with less talent get more accomplished but Roy gets a pass???
