I think there's a good chance that the club are talking to potential managers other than the names that keep coming up on this thread (Lampard, Cooper, Dyche etc). As we learned with NES and Favre, names which took most of us by surprise, the club's network and knowledge stretches well beyond the names we can come up with as a bunch of fans. Trust in the process, believe in the people.

I don't get The Allardyce connection. nothing to suggest he's even in the running - is this just forum talk? There's no way he'll come back to us - didn't it end rather badly with him, with him saying that he didn't want to go through anymore relegation battles [with us]. He's since gone back to relegated threatened clubs - even if he didn't intend it at the time - but I most definately took that as an excuse as to why he wanted to leave, and that was not the whole truth.

Its all just frothy forum talk. Not one bit of info has been released by the club and that is the only source that can be relied upon.

Mr Parish is still beavering away secure in his Soho office trying to find the right man for the job and keeping schtum till he feels able to make his selection known to the world. Meantime the fun of trying to second guess what he's up to will continue on here for our amusement.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I am not saying we will take anyone back but my guess is that if we go for a caretaker Roy will be asked back.
