Yes. Win and loss is a simple result. A draw is different to football though. It happens when there are still batsmen on the field at the end of play, regardless of who scored the most. A tie is when the scores are even and all batsmen are out.

'Technically' speaking, aren't all four results always possible when a test match enters its final session? One or more of those results may be highly improbable, but still possible. Well, yes, I suppose they are. Maybe I should have said 'likely' rather than possible. But then, it's 'technically' possible to drive a lap of the M25 in under an hour.

England break the world record for the highest score in a one-day international with 498-4 against the Netherlands. Blimey.

My money is on Netherlands here. A last wicket partnership could turn the tables dramatically. Only 287 needed from 8 overs. There is no movement off the pitch it is dry as a bone.

Maybe the thread title could do with changing to Cricket ? Given that we have moved on a bit from the series against the West indies ( just a suggestion)

Netherlands to bat first Van der Plonk and Van der Walk are a formidable pair. England say their flight will definitely happen after so expect a surprise result.
